Finally an answer. About 10 years ago a team mate asked why I was facing the wrong way on shots and since then I am so concerned with it I got to the point where I was switching eyes and totally screwed. Cheers, now time to try it out

Arkansas, USA here. Wanted to say that I just recently found and bought my grandfather's old 1870 Brunswick snooker table in an estate sale, and will be watching lots more of your videos from here on out! That table meant the world to him before he passed away, and I intend to play on it for the next 60 years, meaning I'm going to need a lot of instructional videos. lol. cheers!

I really think that I have got a quick win from this video. Thank you very much. In my case it has been changing the angle of the foot on the line of the shot. I was looking for the proper stance to have the eyes in a square line to the shot and it didin't worked by moving the other foot but it works changing the angle of the foot that is on the line of the shot. If I step almost square to the line of the shot all my body is much more confortable and I see the shot better. Just in one day with the new possition I have done better long shots and thin cuts.

At last a video that *at least* touches one of the most delicate subjects in snooker and Billiards. Levy Gonen from Israel. No clue why we had to wait for so long for such a video from anyone. There are a lot of stuff that you can add. Its not just the the "preferred" eye that matters, its even the tilting that we do, since its hard to line up your head perfectly vertically, even if the chin isnt above the cue stick. Furthermore, some people have one of their eyes (like me) higher a bit than the other eye, thus causing a weird natural tilt when trying to objectively line up "vertically" above the cue stick. Anyways, great video.. I bet the next one will be even better. Thumbs up bro. Great stuff.

Very insightful. I've tried to discover and apply orthodox advise on where to put my feet, but I never realized how various foot placements effected this issue with the head not facing the shot. This is the first video I've seen that offers advise that allows me to take my own body into consideration for optimizing foot placement. A friend of mine informed me that my head was tilted instead of facing the shot, and I couldn't really correct it during the stance he pointed this out. Eventually, I corrected this, to a degree, by not allowing my right foot's toes to cross over the shot line, but never considered that my left foot placement could also be adjusted to address this issue. You're clearly working hard to strengthen your fundamentals. Thanks for sharing your discoveries. I'm trying to do the same things. I don't play snooker, but I subscribed to your channel long ago, because I think the topics you cover can benefit me in 9-ball and 8-ball (the games I primarily play).

Thank you so much for this! the timing couldn't have been better! I was actually struggling with this problem. I can see and cue straight on most of the straight forward shots you'd usually face on a table, but for some reason, I'm struggling with the green to the green pocket shot when clearing the colors. I just can't see that shot correctly and I have no idea if I'm gonna overcut it or undercut it or if I'm aiming right. I'm gonna try your method and see if it helps.

Hi! Noticed something recently about cue action, watching both Ronnie, and Judd in particular, they really push the cue down on their bridge hand, watching closely you can see the cue deflect and bend. I've been trying this out myself and it really helps with stability and less miscues especially if doing a deep screw back. What's your thoughts about this? If not covered already :-)
@TYNVIR
@TYNVIR 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I agree with your point of view and thoughts for deep screw this technique is used for quite obvious cue ball has to cover a longer distance before hitting then it comes back fastly

I’ve not heard anyone speaking about the deliberation of the backswing,this came to from trying to add in a pause but never felt natural with my cue action,noticed I was cueing across the ball often(steering)so I’ve started paying more attention to having a slow deliberate straight backswing,only played one session like this so early days,what u think?

Does anyone know how to find a dominant eye because I get different results depending on which object I look at. When I focus on a far away object, my eyes see two gaps between my hands and depending on which I look through I get different “dominant” eyes Okay so it doesn’t matter ultimately but still would like to know which eye is dominant
