That scene with Jesse crying breaks my heart every time. His face was a mixture of anger, frustration, sadness, regret. To be physically unable to save the ones you love is something a lot of people dread.

Hey, ladies, the New Hampshire scenes were, of course, shot in New Mexico. Filmmakers love New Mexico because of the diverse landscapes that the State provides.

It was "the fly" episode. Walt said himself, "only if I died that night and never made it to your apartment, it would have been perfect." When he made that big money deal with Gus and dropped Jesse his half he should have ended it. Killing Jane that night is when Walt fully changed into Heisenberg.

Don't forget that Jessie had also lots to do with souring their relationship with Gus. Jessie was going to try to kill the two thugs and would have gotten himself either killed or still screwing up their deal with Gus for him and Walt.

Tarantino did a lesser known but AMAZING movie called "Jackie Brown", which as one if its mains has Robert Forster, who is playing Ed the dissapearer in this episode. And in case you didn't notice, the shotglass at the end is a little Heisenberg. Little bit of brown at the bottom for the beard, large brim at the top for the hat.

It just goes to show how great Vince Gilligan & his team of directors were with this show when you see that this episode was the only one in the entire series where they used the Breaking Bad theme song in a scene. They could've played the hell out of the theme song in so many other scenes throughout the show which is a common thing in so many T.V shows but they reserved it for the last scene in the penultimate episode of the shows(Literally close to 6 years of the show & this was the first time we heard it during an episode). Just one of the many indicators as to why this show is one of the greatest or all time.

I mean y’all probably realize this after the finale, but I think a big part of why he chose not to surrender yet that y’all might have not caught (or at least discussed) was that he heard his product was still being sold presumably by Todd and his uncle during the interview with his old partners

they didn't use the main theme untill the penultimate episode. and it was used PERFECTLY. thats why you dont just reuse your theme song. wait with it, and the impact will be massive

The moment Walt saved Jesse running over Gus's drug dealers changed everyone's life for the worse...minus Jesse maybe because of El Camino. That scene was the defining moment of the entire show in my opinion.

You mentioned that it was unnecessary and Walt could've gotten out. Walt needn't of started ANY of this. Gretchin and Elliot, as well as Hank and Marie offered to pay for Walt's Cancer treatment from day one, it was Walt's pride that led him to cook meth in the first place.

“Jesse did have a choice” he really didn’t, if you remember the pilot, Walt forced him into this whole situation in the first place by telling him he’d turn him in if he didn’t cooperate

Dunno if y’all heard it cause ya were talking but the other thing that pushed him over the edge was hearing that the blue meth was still being cooked. Which told him Jesse was being kept alive / tortured

Todd is such an interesting character. In a show of such massive villains, Todd somehow seems worst. For me, it's how he is so horrible to people yet wants them to like him. It's like he grew up in this fucked up world and he just thinks this is how it is, and he thinks his victims understand the world this way also.

The house in New Hampshire is sort of like Raskolnikov's exile in Crime and Punishment. Which becomes rather apropos given Walt's conversation with Skylar in the finale.

I'm not into blaming somebody or talking about what's "evil" and "good", but it's interesting to me when people blame Walt for a lot of things that he's done, while not blaming most of the other characters for the things they've done. Walt's relationship with Gus was ruined, because he protected Jesse from the drug dealers. Before all of that happened, Gus was trying to get Jesse out of his(Gus') business. But Walt had to make Jesse his partner and work with him again, otherwise Jesse was going to press charges against Hank for beating him up. And after Jesse killed Gale, the only thing that was stopping Gus from getting Jesse or Walt killed was that he didn't have another chemist. Walt, knowing that, was trying to kill Gus. Later, Gus was trying to make Jesse allow him to kill Walt and also threatened to kill Walt's family. Walt wasn't going to have to poison Brock, if Gus wasn't trying to kill him or his family or Jesse. Or at least, Walt wasn't going to have to do it, if Jesse wasn't getting manipulated by Gus and was actually trying to help Walt kill Gus. The same thing goes for blaming Walt for Hank's death. Walt didn't know that Hank was going to come with Jesse to the desert. He called off Jack's crew, once he saw Hank. And he was willing to give all of his money to save Hank. Over the course of the series, Walt has protected Jesse, Hank and his family a lot of times. He tried to protect Jesse from Tuco, tried to protect Jesse from the drug dealers, tried to protect Jesse from Gus. When Saul and Skyler suggested killing Jesse, Walt denied, while Hank was going to let Jesse get killed just so that he catches Walt. Walt protected Hank by making Jesse drop the charges against Hank. Walt protected Hank from Gus. Saul suggested killing Hank, Walt denied. Those are just some examples.

It's not that he's a creep or an idiot or a murderer; it's that he is so proud of the fact that he kills the most defenseless people imaginable. He's the worst character in the entire series for it; I feel like he thinks he's an equal with his uncles because he kills people, but he never kills anyone that has the means to defend themselves or even the knowledge that he's about to kill them. He's a total psychopath, and is so happy with his accomplishments as a killer when they are something that basically anyone with a gun and lack of empathy could do. It's gross, and such a good little character choice for him. Can't wait for the finale. It's a good ending for this show, and is absolutely insane.

I don't think Skyler felt Hank had any real means of protecting her because he had little evidence that could put Walt away for good and in general probably believed in Walt's abilities to get out of the situation more than Hank. I mean he did it when Hank arrested him, even though he didn't mean to.

Yes Jesse had many chances to get out he had choices but remember it started with Walt blackmailing him he said he would turn him into the DEA if he didn't cook with him then the first two self defense murders happened and all hell broke loose but once they were both into it they are both guilty so Jesse should know that he can't turn him in without it coming back to him so he could have just left but Jesse has low self esteem and wanted his approval and he became to loyal to him even though he hated how he treated him and everything bad was happening around him, Jesse tried to leave three times but kept getting pulled back in

Who knew Todd would save jesse & skylar’s lives

The edit says so much. Nothing about Walt, all about Jessie. This whole episode was about Walt coming to terms with his end. He literally gave up and was willing to turn himself in. Then the turn happens and the music comes in. One last move. One more chance. Jessie could have stopped many times too. Skyler could have left a long time ago. Hank could have swallowed his pride and turned Walt in. Gus could have killed Walt and Jessie before they killed Gayle. Lots of blame to go around. This show is about the rise and fall of Walter White. Period.
