Wow, Malcolm in the Middle is getting intense.

I met the actor who played bogdan at an airport a few years ago. He's a very nice and funny man. He told me the line that Cranston says was totally ad-libbed. He's also a real life chemist. I was like "that's so awesome! Is the show accurate to the way they do stuff with chemistry?" And he was like "I can't say." Very cool man:)

Say what you will about "say my name" or "tread lightly" or "I am the one who knocks"... this is still one of my very favorite Walter moments. He isn't Heisenberg yet, not by a long shot, but for the very first time, Walt really stands up for himself. It's the first genuine moment of self-respect he has had in maybe years. After letting everyone, even his own students, step all over him, Walt, faced with his own imminent death, finally has the guts to tell someone off like they deserve. Even within this first episode, it's a huge character development. Fuck Bogdan, and his eyebrows.

That final brush against that black thing in the end and Walt reacting to it in fright was like Icing on the cake.

I like how Walt reiterates what he said before Bogdan even responds. It's like he had this interaction planned before saying it, expecting him to go "What did you just say to me?"

" I got you you a restraining order right here, RESTRAIN THIS"

Thats how you diss most teenage girls nowadays too.

FUN FACT: Bogdan is actually a chemist. This is like the only time he's ever actually acted.

I love how different he is there compared to later in the franchise. It shows how much he has evolved as a character, specifically from good to bad. It feels nice to see him with hair again.

Admit it. When we first see Bogdan we all thought to ourselves that his eyebrows looked stupid so that is why it is funnier for Walt to mention them in an insult :D

To boost his own Heisenberg pride/ego, get back at anyone he feels has disrespected him at any point, no matter how much or little they really have.

I love how the sirens are going off overhead as he walks out. It's a subtle subliminal message that Walt is well and truly at "breaking" point.
