Hank was just as happy to slap the cuffs on brother-in-law Walt as he would've been anybody else. It made zero difference to Hank that Walt was family or how it would impact Walt Jr. & Skyler. Not saying Hank should've let Walt slide, he had to arrest him, but his indifference to Walt vs any other drug kingpin showed that Hank was self-centered and only about getting his man to further his career. I enjoyed watching Jack end Hanks ‘career’.

I don't see that Hank has forgiven Walt anything BUT I see that Hank realized that Walt cared for him and truly loved him as a family member. In his eyes, Walt is still a criminal but no longer someone he is totally a stranger to. When he found out about Walter's criminal career, he doubted he'd ever known him. Surely he had to assume that all those years together were just wrong and fraudulent. Every nice word. But he realized that Walt was a criminal, but one who still loved his family.

Walt doesn't love his family. He could've just taken Gretchen and Elliot's money. He could've been happy with the knowledge that Hank will always take care of his family. Instead he wanted to start a drug empire knowing all the risks that entailed. Including this one. Walt did this for himself.

Funny that throughout the series, Walt amasses money and power through greed, cruelty and destruction. Thinking it made him 'better' or 'stronger'. Yet, here he has 80million, and is the most feared criminal of the area, and he is utterly powerless. Meanwhile, Hank, who has never compromised and stayed morally good, goes down like a beast. The way I see it, Hank didn't forgive Walt for everything he's done. However, he saw that despite all the horrible stuff, to the drugs, the death, all of it, Walter still loved his family. He was willing to give up all of his money, $80 million, if it meant that Hank could've lived. And even if Jack took that deal and let Hank live, Walter would've been arrested, so there's no way he would've made it back. So, for me, Hank's last words to Walt were just the honest truth. That despite him doing everything in him power to save his life, it was all in vain.

Walt's face once he falls haunts me deeply. Bryan Cranston can't be praised enough for his acting throughout breaking bad, but that last clip is one of those moments I don't think gets enough attention. His expression alone seems to encapsulate not just immense grief, despair and desperation, but the total accumulation of his actions that lead to that moment; the full weight of Heisenberg's actions are behind it. It was like a moment of true, horrific clarity. Honestly I could rave about just about every second of Ozymandias, but Walt falling over is what I keep coming back for time and time again.

My favorite scene in breaking bad history. I love the “please” that Walt says at 1:37. It really shows his desperation at a whole new level we haven’t seen before. And the moment Jack pulls the trigger is the moment that everything Walt built disappears.

There's a parallel between Andrea and Hank's deaths. Jesse and Walt both had their hands tied behind their backs and could do nothing but cry and watch their loved ones be shot by dead.

Dean Norris's acting as Hank is perfect. To go from unbearable brother-in-law to hero over the course of the series is such a great arc. And here, you can see all the love, resentment, betrayal, pity, dignity... All in his eyes and in the quiver of his voice. I wish he was the lead in more movies

Another awesome thing, or should i say "depressing" thing from this scene is, how there's no music at all when Hank's was shot mid-sentence. Just pure silence, no emotional music in background not even a hint of it. Showing how Walt's world was shattered and went into the void.

Even with it being the final season, I remember seeing this live and being completely shocked. Hanks death hit harder because he was the good guy that kept his integrity and trying to do the right thing. Walt was the other side of that, his death wasn’t really shocking and didn’t have the same effect. By the time Walt died he had done so much bad and rationalized being a bad person that you almost root for it lol. But you gotta love shows like Breaking Bad and The Shield that try to blur the lines. Because most people are shades of gray.

This scene is truly a masterpiece with cleverly underlying symbolism behind it. With the episode named Ozymandias, it cleverly links to the idea of Hank portrayed as dead, and under the ground. Hank morally was a good man, yet although he may have jumped a few hurdles in order to catch Walt, he still didn't give up on the case, which I do have much respect for. Walter on the other hand was greedy and spiteful and only really placed more problems for himself as the series unveiled itself, YET DESPITE all the money he had collected to his name. Hank went down like a true hero. Respect.

Not sure if this is something the actor was directed to do from the outset or something he came up with on his own, but Jack’s wry, almost appreciative smile around 1:24, following Hank’s defiant comeback, is a really nice touch. The mutual contempt remains, but Jack nonetheless seems to regard Hank as a ‘good sport’ and a worthy opponent in these final moments.

I've seen the show a few times - when it was airing, a few years ago and I just watched it all again recently. This whole scene was brutal. I felt a sadness for a few days afterwards whenever I thought about Hank. I know it's just a show but I'm human, give me a break. And Gomez - jezuz - he was alive, fighting for his life, then there was a commercial, the show comes back on and he was dead... they didn't even grace him with an on screen death. Ruthless writing.
