I'm from New Mexico and I used to work in the film industry out here. I know a lot of people that actually worked on this series, and I got a chance to meet the cast! Everyone was really awesome and so down to earth.

The best show ever. Some things to keep in mind: it was made in the 2008 so the attitudes of drugs and technology are of that "old" time. And also, this is a well written show so you will see/read/hears things that will relate to future episodes.

You’re going to love it - easily in the top five greatest tv shows ever produced, if not the greatest. I live in a university town over on the other side of the state from you guys (you can probably figure out where by that description), and meth - “hillbilly heroin”, I’ve heard it called - around here, particularly in the smaller surrounding towns, is definitely a problem (though nowhere near as bad as when this show was on the air)... so a lot of the issues brought up in Breaking Bad were especially relevant when I first saw it.

Thanks for reacting to this. The show received many well deserved Emmy's. Interestingly, the first few seasons had relatively low viewers. Most who love the show initially binged the show on Netflix or DVD.

BB's writing, cast, & cinematography are outstanding & the show only gets better & better each season. Bryan Cranston deserves all the emmys, as does Aaron Paul (Jesse), they are a fantastic duo. Strap in & get ready for the roller-coaster ride that is Breaking Bad.

I think you're going to find that this is the start of another era of great reactions similar to Game of Thrones. It's going to be really fascinating to see both of you reacting from now on because we haven't really gotten to see Lacey's take on things much until now. The episodic formula for Breaking Bad is kind of iconic, especially for this pilot episode. It's a pretty classic "first chapter" kind of approach where you tease some conflict right off the bat to drum up interest (cold open), introduce the protagonist in his mundane life (Walt as a teacher), burden him with multiple problems (unappreciated, second job, dull marriage, cancer), offer a solution to at least one of those problems (fast and easy drug money), throw the protagonist into the deep end right away (the meth-making fiasco), force a moral choice (kill the rival drug slingers), and leave the character changed after the whole experience (newfound machismo, potential money, confidence, improved sex life, dead bodies, almost killed himself). It's tried and true and you can spot it in plenty of other shows and books because it's such a well-tuned hook for drawing in viewers. Buckle up for a wild ride because while there's plenty of humor, this episode is the easy lure into a really juicy storytelling adventure. So excited to experience it with you both!

BB definitely Hard to believe a show like this would but well you'll see GOT really suffered after surpassing source material and started showing they weren't strategic writers It's like a painting real sloppy and awful until you zoom out to see its resemblance. BB JUST is brilliant and has one of tva highest rated episodes globally

First video of yours I have watched. Welcome to one of the best TV shows ever made, if not the best (My opinion anyway). The writing is superb, cinematography is stellar, especially the wide angle time lapse shots. Awesome character development. Breaking Bad only gets better as the ride goes along. Yes, Jesse Pinkman role... I mean Aaron Paul Who kicked Peter Dinklage's ass as Tyrion to earn his Emmy award this year even Peter's performance at the trial in S04E06 was one of the masterpieces in the whole GOT series And Aaron deserved this. Every season geometrically increases in quality and drama from the last. I've never seen another TV show with an arc of improving quality and tension than BrBa. There are many good shows, some great shows, and this is the perfect show. Enjoy the journey, looking forward to it.

I dare say even better than GoT in terms of acting and multi-layered interlinked plot lines. Plus the spin off series called "Better Call Saul" which is currently still running and going into its 5th season.... which reminds me that I need to catch up on that series... been a little side tracked with so many great shows out there.

the greatest TV show of all time period, season 5 is on a league of it's own nothing comes close to it even ALL of GOT season's combined can't touch it, enjoy the ride.

One of my top 5 tv shows of all time. Where exactly just depends on the day. It's a GREAT show. One of the few that doesn't have a meh season imo. One of the even fewer shows that doesn't disappoint at all in the character arcs of the characters

This series, much like GOT, started with a beginning and an end. It wasn’t made up as it went along. And just like any story that takes 5 seasons to tell, there are going to be those heavy dialogue episodes that are necessary, but not boring, so please give it the time it needs to breathe. You’ll understand why those episodes matter later on. I think your reaction to this one is a great start. Yay. This would also make me a Patreon and probably others as well. This show demands full reactions, it’s that good.

I have had Sprecher but not the other typically I can get Specher in Wisconsin but I do see it time to time at our local grocery store.

Love that you're reacting to this! My 1 suggestion would be to pay a bit more attention. Objectively, I think this show is better made than GoT, but GoT is still my favorite. The acting is amazing in BB, so is cinematography and just the storytelling. Every scene serves a purpose. I'm thinking Steve is gonna love this show based on this first reaction. It has a lot of humor, touching moments, suspense, it really is a great show.
