I think the Dems thought Trump would drop out of the debate and took the calculated risk that he would and of course they could use it against him. Whether that calculation affected his prep or just totally took them by surprise precluded any pulling out of the debate. Either way it isn't that he just lost the debate (he did), it's that he looked physically and mentally incapable of occupying the Presidency. Everything that has come out since the debate seems to support this narrative (able to function effectively between 10 AM and 4 PM for example). Jill Biden seems to be running the country and that to me as a Democrat is a discomforting thought.

and it was completely avoidable if 1) DNC/DEM PACS had not colluded with the media to suppress media reports of his cognitive decline during the POTUS primary in 2020, let alone during the General and next 3+ years. 2) If he had honored his intent to be a one-term POTUS as a "bridge from Trump to the next generation of leaders." 3) actually respected the polls for the past 2 years saying he is TOO OLD (i.e. has cognitive decline) to run for a second term. DEMS blocked themselves in with an Affirmative Action Pic for VP and NOT moving forward with a different VP pick for his second term to bolster willingness to vote for him knowing the VP would likely finish his term. But Kamala has proven to be woefully incompetent and NO ONE WANTS HER as POTUS.

Being President is a tough job and requires physical stamina. If the President can’t fly and chew gum at the same time he should not be president. I was an international flight attendant in my younger days. I know about constantly being jet lagged. However, he is the president who flys on air force one in extreme comfort and the luxury of a full size bed. He has access to all the amenities and MEDICATIONS that come with it. Other presidents manage that just fine. He is not fit for the job! Especially if a little jet lag interferes with his cognition.

I am playing a hunch. I think Biden will bow out on the 4th of July. What a better time to say "after careful review I have decided to step aside from the election on this very historic day of our country. I have been honored to serve as your president, but due to my health I feel it is more important to think of the future of this country. Thank you for your support and please support my successor." Not saying this is going to happen, but I wouldn't be surprised if it did.

Excuses are like our a-h0le everyone has it and everyone's stinks. Jet lag can affect you somewhat but not the extreme that we saw. plus Biden knew he had a debate coming, Biden has traveled enough to know his limits...Biden had the powers to cancel any trip prior to the debate in order for him to put the best performance.. I am a Liberal and will not vote Trump but I may not be in good conscience vote Biden
