Emoni is another year or two away from meaningful playtime on this team. He needs to learn how to be a NBA player. He’s rail thin and cannot hold up on the defensive end. He needs a lot of seasoning and physical growth. The best situation for him is in the G League where he can develop. Cavs are in a win now mode and don’t have the time to give Emoni meaningful minutes imho.

Solid. Not a fan of Gilbert being more involved in basketball operations though if that’s true, not specifically related to Atkinson because I like him. But we’ve given Gilbert more than enough rope to be involved in Ops. & he hangs himself & the team every time.

Part of Gilbert being involved was reported as him hearing from Tom Izzo, who endorsed Atkinson. It's not the same as some of the other "meddling" from before. Hopefully this decision pans out. Atkinson was my pick if they couldn't get Sam Cassell, who I don't think was even considered. You wanted Borrego?

Step one is complete. Step 2 sign Mitch. Step 3 sign Mobley. Step 4 trade Garland for a 3. Garland’s not a franchise player (has a cost prohibitive contract) lacks the body to hold up in the post season and they need to spend it on another player(s).

Garland not getting traded lol Altman would only trade him for a superstar value and garland is not getting you that right now plus him and Donovan work. The problem is they never got to develop any real friction as a backcourt because JB is awful at running offense his whole sachem is give a guard then all and PNR teams to death shit is like basic highschool ball

@@jadenuniverse9541 Rich Paul may go to Koby/Gilbert and seek trade when Mitchell resigns. Garland is a one way, undersized pg who is a liability on the defensive end.

Agree for the most part but they don't have to rush anything. Might be more prudent to give them another year with Atkinson coaching (and have Garlands value go up with a potentially better year) and then decide next off-season.
