I wish NASCAR would go back to the Winston Cup style of racing ! No stages,40+ car fields get rid of these ugly cars they run now let the teams have some freedom on the performance side of things and see what happens jmo

They could add 100 car fields but cars 30-100 would still be back marker pieces of shit that really don't matter. Not necessarily better for the sport or competition.

I understand all things about nascar...I've been around nascar before I could talk...at Martinsville speedway...as a part of my family that owned...this speedway...from dirt to pavement. ..and the beautiful track that is today....I have a problem with nascar...and as that is...I refuse to watch or to comment anymore concerning this sport....this sport was a long and family sport...this sport was rapped around family. ..family and team owners run this sport. ..today...family and team owners have no say....that is very sad..because what nascar was build on was family. ...

Tony told me at Eldora. Gene wanted out. And Tony didn't want the hassle of trying to sell 1/2 of everything. Gene wants to do F1 and not NASCAR anymore.

@michaeldownard7812.......My son-in-law works inside of SHR. He has told me many things regarding many subjects that are a part of this closure. SHR had all of their ducks in a row and the only real question is the employment of SHR employees.

NASCAR began to die when Dale Sr died and the real death blow was when they decided to go after the wrong fans and make too many changes that pulled them away from their origin. I haven’t watched a full race of NASCAR racing since the final race of 2016. As it just became something I couldn’t watch or support anymore.

I hope SHR make lots a' money with the sale of their charters and takes the money and runs. I've never understood what value there was in purchasing another level of excuses to stop merit based competition from being recognized. What value is added by charters for race fans.Another cost of operations, already not profitable, associated with racing nascar santioned races.and another level of controls by greedy nascar beaurocracy. And what can be said about liberty media orchestrating weekly soap series. I hope lots of teams bail out on charters and either race by merit making profit or moving to a more fulfilling series.

The whole concept of the Charter system was meant to insure that Teams had VALUE should they choose to leave NASCAR. SHR's fire sale has certianly changed that landscape but it is STILL a free market isn't it? The fact that SHR sells a charter for 20 someodd million and other teams are trying to sell for 30 someodd million just tells me we have a buyers market now. SHR has three more charters to sell and apparently will to sell them cheap. Why would anyone interested NOT buy from SHR...which is likely the point. Haas and Stewart just want OUT from under the albatross that is SHR. The free market always wins out. I expect the balance to be found in the 25mil range.

I know why Jr doesn't buy in. It is a losing proposition. It is a business that was designed to make money, but most teams have little say in the sport. As long as there are rich people willing to lose money racing, the sport will survive, but just like most forms of racing it is expensive and often more a labor of love and in Cup racing, fame. I just hope the France family don't squeeze it so hard it fails.
