Digimon: The Movie effectively utilizes the expressive animation of the original Japanese films alongside witty comedy, dynamic sound design and an alt-rock soundtrack to give the film meaning outside its poorly-paced story. It simultaneously spotlights an overarching Western ignorance about foreign animation at the turn of the 21st century.

Wow, I can’t believe this is finally done! I started this project back in 2020, after the entire live events industry shut down and I was out of work. I never expected the direction this behemoth would take, because I really just wanted to talk about the Digimon movie. Consider this a review, retrospective, contextual analysis, or video essay, whatever you'd like really. At the end of the day, this is my love letter to the first movie I remember seeing. It would mean the world to me for you to watch it.
Two people I want to shout out because I forgot to add you to the credits: Serena, for thinking I could totally make this, and Evan, not just for your amazing voice-over work, but for your continued friendship all these years. Thank you for believing in me.

Majority of footage is from DarkDream787's encode of the movie. He took the originals and painstakingly put it back together, what an absolute legend.
