I’ve been doing martial arts for 25 years. I don’t know if we realize how amazing it is to have access to this kind of content, FOR FREE. And, it’s amazing to feel part of a growing world wide community. 25 years ago when you were practicing martial arts you didn’t have much people to share this passion with, apart from your teammates, at least here in France. Thank you Gabriel and all the content creators that share with us amazing martial arts related videos.

My kickboxing instructor was 6'6" about 230 lb and he did that roundhouse kick to a side or back kick, in an upward trajectory. The kick caught my buddy square in the nuts and lifted him off the ground. LMFAO one of the most brutal and hilarious shots I ever saw land. my friend was about 5'8 170 lb lol

Jack Dempsey and Joe Lewis did pretty good with picking their rear foot up when they threw the cross. I think it all depends on how you use it and your knowledge of delivering power

It was most definitely this camp where you started throwing the roundhouse to corral your opponent. I remember it well because I was struggling to spar southpaw and you were crushing me with that that kick, 😂. I also remember you switching to a more footwork focused defense and it was weird for the first two weeks. After that, you dialled it in and I struggled to get anywhere near you. It really stands out in my memory because you had always found winning strategies within your own style and this was the first time I had ever seen you change your stylistic dynamics so much for a specific opponent. I had always respected your fight IQ and grit but I distinctly recall being extra impressed with this one. It was a cool experience to watch you figure it out and execute it so well. 🙏

Great video on dealing with southpaws, Gabriel! I've been practicing southpaw on the double-end bag lately (the double-end bag & slip bag & home-made reflex ball are the only at-home training tools I have), because I can switch stances easily & my left shoulder has been hurting too much to go orthodox (and I've been meaning to work on southpaw fundamentals). So this is very good study material, sir.

You're great Doug! Always love the content, especially the POLKer hands which I know you always love doing...! The hand breakdowns are the best as despite your on screen personna being a bit bonkers, actually the hand breakdowns are done very scientifically and methodicaly and it's interesting to see the thought process at work. You are perhaps a bit harsh sometimes - I think if you have a flaw with this stuff sometimes you just won't let stuff go (Alex Torreli) - Sometimes you just need to think 'Stop' they're already dead!' The Berkey stuff is a bit annoying. I actually get your PoV on him but he's an interesting guy, he speaks very, and his podcast is quite fun to listen to. But beef is beet i guess! Stay strong dude!

I wonder if Adamchuck was actually aware that this hip kick works the way it does. If he was aware he might have been working on the psychological combat for the trilogy fight if it was ever gonna happen. I would be definitely terrified of that kick if i knew that the next month or so my hip would be so busted i could not sleep or wear jeans even. Nasty technique

13:00 throwing your right hand stepping in isn’t so bad. Gennady Golovkin uses it for shifting to set up his left hook. Also look up Jack Dempsey’s falling step. Good way of transferring weight when moving forward.
