Beat Makers were oringally reffered to as *Programmers.* If you are a Producer you are more than a beat maker, you have a vision for the song that helps realise an Artist's vision and bring a concept into reality. Record Producer's are similar to a director in Film and T.V. They oversee the recording and mixing process of song created. They direct and call the shots behind the mixing board trying to get good vocals out of some body. Record Producer's comes from different backgrounds as some are hands on while some are hands off. Sean Diddy Combs doesn't make beats, he hires beat makers and ochestrates a song togther.

This was a strange battle. Both are absolute assassins with signature styles but it's really 2 different genres of music. As many have noted, Scott needed a lot more support to get to this level while Manny was basically going it alone. Scott's hits have wider appeal but Manny had his ear to the streets. Manny about ballin with his boys while Scott trying to get you laid in the club. Much respect for both. Scott has more hits but more asterisks too. No losers in this battle.

Well making beats is no Co-Producing. Having a vision for the song and direction is Co-Producing. U don't even have to make beats to be a Record Producer. Record Producer's are like the director in the studio that calls the shots behind the mixing board. I just produced a Record last week, a rapper I worked with came in my studio with a beat. I produced the record, recorded his vocals and mixed the record. The guy that made the beat is not the Producer of the song because he wasn't there in the studio with me which is not Co-Produced. I produced the record. He Co-Wrote the song.

He Co-Wrote not Co-Produced. Producing a Record and collaborating on a beat are two different things. Scott Storch is not even listed as a Co-Producer on Still Dre or Cry Me A River, he was hired as a Musician and Writer for those songs as Scott Storch started off as a Musician and session player before he became a Record Producer. A Producer is like the director of Film and T.V. They oversee the entire song creation process that has a vision for the song. You don't even have to make beats to be a Producer as Diddy and Rick Rubin doesn't make beats.

@eman08284 жыл бұрын
He Co-Wrote not Co-Produced the songs. A Producer has a vision for the song that helps realise an Artist's vision as they are like the directors in Film and T.V that has creative control of the song. They oversee the recording process in the studio with the Artist directing behind the mixing board calling the shots trying to get good vocals out of some body. They collaborate on ideas and try to get the song to its highest level. That's basically what a real Producer does.
