So very happy for you all! Put long white socks on the kiddos, on the outside of pant legs. Makes it easier to see ticks & they have to work harder to get to you. Newly hatched ticks(seed ticks) are so tiny they can crawl through socks...I do not like chasing those down.

We live in the woods. Use none poisonous treatment for ticks. It does work. Also check yourself every time you come into the house.

The Wyze outdoor cams with solar, set a couple of those up on poles around the property. Maybe one of your techs could write a special firmware that will make them grab a photo every hour or 1/2 hour from 6am to 8pm every day. Once a week, go change out the cards.

So glad you finally broke ground and now in the process of building your dream home.The kids will learn and see so much during this process. My dad built our homes when I was a kid and we were always there helping in whatever ways we could and seeing everything done from start to finish.Then my mom made the houses dad built into homes and we got to be apart of the interior design and help during that process. I have so many treasured memories from those times and I learned so much during the building of all three houses.Do makes flat grass I singlehandedly raked every rock in our yard into piles and my dad shovelled them because they were too heavy for me to shovel in the the wheelbarrow and dispose of.Then I got to plant grass seed and watered it…when it grew it was my job to mow it. It was a great learning experience. I stuffed insulation into the wall forms….even hammered some nails.Everything I learned serviced me well now in my adult years.Your kids will love this process. Find ways to help them feel like they contributed too the building of the house…even though I know you’re hiring people to build it for you. As for ticks you better get used to them because your property is where they thrive. Every time I go to the country this time of year I come home with one or two. I hate them. Keep as much grass as you can short. That’ll help some. They love long grass.Can’t wait to see your next vlog. Have fun in California.

That's wonderful your house is going up. I have a suggestion for Ticks and lawn care when that day comes. When we moved on to our property we didn't have ticks, but we had goat heads and a lot of Canadian thistles etc. And lots of flying bugs when you walk across the yard, plus grubs and snail. You can go on line and look up Author Jerry Baker Lawn Care. It's an awesome book, and has a lot of natural remedies for lawns, flower beds, gardens you can use in a spray bottle or spray tank hooked to a rider mower and trailer. Can't wait to see the next advantage on the house.

Congrats on ground breaking! Ticks☹️we always kept a small lidded jar with rubbing alcohol and stored the tweezer in the jar. Tick die instantly when put in the alcohol. Have tick check every night - humans and dog. Have available a full length mirror for self checking. If you find a tick embedded with a bullseye-ish red circle immediately go to a doctor for meds and removal. I don’t mean to frighten you, but be cautious and keep the grass mowed. So much fun, I'm so excited!!! Also for ticks, be diligent for checking, because you do *not* want to get sick from something from them. Wearing long pants with your socks tucked in helps keep them off, and then bug spray (for peace of mind tbh) and make sure to check your whole body before you get in the car and once more before you get home, and then change all your clothes! That's what my family has done, and honestly I really, really hope none of us or you get ticks! I hope building the house goes smoothly and doesn't take too long, I'm so excited! It's such a blessing the opportunities your family has had, I'm so glad everything is working out for the most part. I wish we could see more of your lives, but at the same time I also admire not filming your kids all the time and allowing them to have their lives and that's more important than my silly desires. Anyways, best of luck, I hope everything goes well and everyone is safe!!

Buy each of the kids a sketch pad and each time they go out to see the house get them to sketch what they see noting the changes. When you move in you can then choose some and frame them for a place on the walls of a family room, hallway etc. I did this with an art class as we watched the local wave pool being built. Kids loved it and we got some amazing drawings, especially of the machinery. One of the boys in this group has gone on to do engineering because of this activity. We created a great exhibition at school using the childres drawings and 2 of them hang at the local pool which the kids watched for a whole year.

Keep the grass short = fewer ticks. Once established you can get some poultry to help control them. Folks are going to recommend Guineafowls to control ticks. These would be awesome but you make videos and Guineafowls aren't quiet at all.
