Why would Knicks want KAT. Jimmy Butler once said KAT ain’t shit and he’s soft. Going 5-18 in playoffs at one time. Why would Knicks trade for such a player? He’s not IHart and he’s not an elite defender like Robinson. As much as I’ve loathed the signing of Randle because I never saw him as a no.1 and his mental and emotional stability through the tough times are questionable at best I liked how he fell into his role before the injury. I’d rather keep Randle.

As of right now we have a starting 5 of Brunson, Bridges, OG, Julius and Mitch with a bench featuring Hart, Donte and Deuce. That's 2 All Stars and 3 All Defenseive players starting and several players off the bench that are good enough to start on a lot of teams. Assuming the rookies and the tail end of the bench sorts itself out the only teal issue we have is our lack of depth at center (especially with Mitch being injury prone). I am worried that if KAT is used as the fix for that 1 hole we risk opening up several others depending on what we give up in the trade. Between the cost and the skillsets involved it's too close to a lateral move to risk screwing up what they've been carefully building for so long imo.

The thing about getting towns for porzingis is that on top of shooting porzingis also is one of the best rim protectors in the league that’s why it works. Minnesota literally had to spend 200 million on a rim protecter because towns couldn’t to save his life If porzingis was towns on defense Boston wouldn’t be where there at. Randle and Mitch in that front court genuinely match up better and their salaries combined are less than towns. Whether it happens or not that would be a horrible move in every way.

JR for KAT? Idk about that! Prior to the 23/24 season hands down I’d said yes but after JR realized that the ball must go through JB he became or was becoming a more balanced player …the team was jelling and winning consistently easily…I’d keep the team as is with the new signings but I know that pro sports is a business and the decision makers would trade one for the other if they perceive KAT as an upgrade to JR…

Jaylen has zero problems in the paint so spacing isn’t an issue. Hartensteins defensive presence is what we’ll miss. His 9 points don’t compare to Julius’s 17 on a bad year. If we lose by 3 with Hartensteins defense and offense without Julius’s 25 offense but still have Hartensteins defense then we don’t need a stretch 5. We need an anchor and a healthy squad

What scares me about Randle is his propensity for being a ball stop & chucker at times. His roll will be diminished will he be fine with that. But he’s a beast & tough. Where as Towns will replace Isiah scoring & bounding. He doesn’t have to carry much on the Knicks & having JB as a point guard can help him. Mitch is one injury away from being hopeless 😩

No Hartenstein or JR makes the Knicks physically soft. They need a physical brute on the team. They need an enforcer if both mentioned players are no longer present. In this essence of physicality, a JR for Towns trade could hamper the Knicks.

Not a fan of this trade at all. They'd had to include around another 20 million is salary beyond Randle too. That means like adding Hart, Divo, or Mitch along with Deuce. They don't have enough to even go after Towns now we will have to give up some critical guys I cant see this happening after all they gave up for Bridges. Unless they will trade Randle and Mitch??? then we gain offense but lose much defense in the process.
