DeSantis should be our nominee. He just tells it like it is, and he can't be bought. He knows the law and the Constitution, and knows how the legislative branch needs to work. He can't be duped by them. Top that with having a strong moral compass, good family values, and having served in the Navy, and you've got an amazing candidate. Our country was wrong to push him aside, and we will suffer for that.

It's very easy to describe the fire after the smoke has long cleared. DeSantis is fighting for relevancy at a level one order of magnitude of where his lane should be. What he should do is continue being a pretty good governor for Florida, that's an achievement few people can claim for their life, no shame in it, I admire him for it. But again he needs to just stay in his lane.

Good point, but it’s a little harder to make that claim when CNN was running the show. I think his handlers are letting everyone see it now so they can replace him before the election. That’s why the debates were scheduled so much earlier than usual but not early enough to let his replacement come under close scrutiny. I just wonder if it’ll be Joe or the replacement facing Trump in the second debate. I suspect the plan was for Joe to do better this time and for the second debate to go the way this one did, but he’s declining faster than expected and now they’re in panic mode because people have enough time to really start asking questions about who’s been covering for him and why, and who’s been running the country.

Liberal democracy is economically self destructive. People keep voting for more government and more government handouts until the economy crashes. The US has accumulated debts and pledges that it cannot pay. This problem has developed over several decades under both Democrat and Republican administrations. A major economic crisis is looming. A more authoritarian government is likely to emerge from the wreckage.
