In continuing to keep everyone informed and after receiving several messages and inquiries, I am sharing this video as I reflect on the past 12 years as I provided breaking news to residents in the River Valley. In August, due to circumstances out of my control, I was furloughed (laid off/let go) from River Valley Now. I never expected or anticipated that the last few months would be my last chapter and was taken by surprise, but I understand that that’s how life goes. Breaking news has definitely taught me that things you least expect occur in the blink of an eye.
Although it may be the end of the road for me capturing breaking news, it has been an indescribable experience to bring the latest happenings to readers over the years. I have learned a lot, I’ve seen a lot of things and have so many memories that I will always be thankful for.
If the past few years has taught me anything, it is that we never know what tomorrow will bring, but God always has a plan. With that being said, I am thankful for the opportunity, for those I worked beside and for the many friends I have made. I’m thankful for those who cheered me on, supported me, assisted me and I’m even thankful for others who offered their criticism (sometimes on a regular basis). More than that, I am grateful to my family and the many heroes I have been blessed to capture as they work tirelessly, giving their all. My job was a challenge, but I quickly decided it was a challenge I could do and would do it to the best of my ability. I conquered bad weather conditions, late and sometimes sleepless nights, I witnessed heartbreaking situations and occasionally, I put myself in bad situations. Those scenarios are what first responders experience everyday and to them I am truly thankful.
I share the following video not only as closure for myself, but also for the many local heroes who I will always pray for and call my friends.
I want to thank these heroes sharing for these memories with me and thank you for all you do.
***Although this video is long, it was impossible to include all of the videos I have archived. While making the video, I tried my best to include all of the agencies I was blessed to have worked with over the years.
