Otherwise they can put you in jail and keep you there until the legal matter is satisfied. The reason they take your passport is so you don't become a flight risk. It's better to have your passport temporarily taken than sitting in jail for that time. So if this is true about Floyd Mayweather, then at lease is free to walk around in the community over there and not be behind bars.
