No, a president cannot completely shut down the border with an executive order. A full border closure would violate federal laws granting people the right to seek asylum, therefore new legislation has to be voted into law to change it, Trump had 4 years and did not keep his promises, when a republican senator drew up a new bill that would close these gaps, Trump called Mike Johnson and had him stop it because he would rather have our borders remain an issue than fix it before the election, Trump only cares about himself and keeping himself from facing any prosecution for crimes he committed, he does not care about the American people, the law or the constitution.

Too effin old to try to spend my retirement looking at the crap. We just keep up on news from trusted sources. We spend the rest of our days figuring out how to pay our bills and in the garden, canning food so we afford our medication and eat. It’s NOT THE GOLDEN YEARS, a fact. I hand wrote this man about what was happening. Mr. Cornon jumped right on it. In less than 2 weeks, Tommy's insurance paid for it all until he passed! I respect him!

not exactly. With the pandemic over, title 42 can’t just ho back into effect. But Biden could have kept it going a bit longer, maybe a year at most. That being said, title 42 was never meant as a long term solution. There must be bipartisan work done which the border bill that republicans killed was.
