The fact that there's people lobbying to keep people sick, isn't just absurd, it's disgusting. Can you imagine profiting off of the suffering of millions and sleeping well at night? It should be a crime, that's as evil and malicious as ever.

I don't care if they are R's, D's, or I's.... We need people that understand the implications of the spending our government is doing. It's hard to imagine getting enough of them in power to make needed changes.

My wife of over 34 years on July the 28th, was diagnosed with having chronic Lymphoma leukemia two years ago. The one medication she has to have is $15,000 dollars per month. If our Medicare insurance that I paid into for over 30 years was to run out tomorrow our lives wouldn't exist because our medications alone is completely out of our budget. What's it going to be like for our son and daughter that's paying in ungodly amounts of taxes already not to mention our grandchildren???? This has to be something taken very seriously right now, and what Biden said about it last night should automatically have consequences to encourage politicians to stop lying.

Last video I watched, Rep. Schweikert wisely asked "is it ethical for the Federal government to borrow money to send to an entity that is itself a taxing authority?" The answer is NO. To that end, it is time to rethink the entire budget process, starting with eliminating the idea of "non-discretionary spending."

THIS PRESENTATION IS MORE THAN EXCELLENT. I had good economics profs in college (I have a PhD), but NONE of them were as good ad Rep. Schweikert when it comes to teaching and explaining this subject.

Never listened to any Congressman like this. We need 434 more like this gentleman in Congress and 100 in the Senate. Unfortunately, nobody who needs to listen to this is listening or want to listen.

I work in healthcare, yet my family can barely afford to go to the doctor. We only go if we HAVE to! I haven't seen a dentist in years. I can't afford it! Insurance through my work (A large healthcare company) is SO AWFUL, that I'm on my husband's insurance and my family STILL CAN'T AFFORD TO GO TO THE DOCTORS. Yet tons and tons of people on government healthcare come in weekly for a itchy throat. It's disgusting. Its demoralizing.

We get what we vote for.

I might add that those who pay taxes on their Social security income goes back into the general fund. How much of that tax collection would have stretched out SS insolvency if the taxes collected on that amount have been put back into SS trust fund. The money that came from the trust and the taxes on that money should go back into the trust.

Thanks to all the politicians , all the years I worked and paid in to social security is all most gone because they waisted it. If they had not gave a lot of it away to people who never even paid in to the system , and borrowed from it we could be living good on our retirement instead of just barely getting by.

I wish our congress would start telling the People that the People are the creditors not the debtors, and then teach how to balance the accounts, by setoff our problem isn’t the spending, not truly, it’s the utter lack of creditors doing our part by offsetting debtors with credits, or rather, through our signatures. The only true money printer in a debt based economy is one’s pen.

People don't understand just how inflated government spending is. This is after decades of solidifying inflated prices every year because the bureaucracy does not negotiate prices. Social Security and Medicare are overpaying and overstaffed. Every time a state government raises the minimum wage it solidifies inflated prices. This also raises the minimum payout of EVERYTHING. The federal government simply cannot cover the costs the States are pushing onto it.

This man is doing real work. This should be shouted from the rooftops by everyone. Share share share this video. US healthcare is a money sucking dinosaur, but the idea is absurd that technology will save us and that serious sacrifices won’t be required. This is a terrible American mindset that we can just game our way out of this problem. The question is whether the sacrifices will be voluntary or not. I think we all know the answer to that.

We are already to the point where a 100% tax rate "on the rich" would not cover the deficit.

Note: i'm not from the US This speech and his statistics are seriously aimed at a message: "We pay and borrow too much for medicaid, so we must reduce our spending" Conclusion: "chaning border policy, reduce lending make people healthier, etc." I do agree on make people healthier part here My first question: "Why does it cost so much, why does someone pay thousands for transportation to a hospital, why does it cost so much to pay for medication", so with his statistics my conclusion would be: "lets crack down on hospitals and healthcare costs rather than forcing people to work for lower costs". I really find it weird where a government is so divided and never looks at how much money goes into the US politics, both parties are corrupt: Republicans: liars, cheats and conman, Democrats: stuck up, not democratic at all (why is Biden on the ticket, where is the primary?), and corrupt as well. Only a handful of people on either side are ok and try to do something for the people rather than doing the bidding of the higher bidder/sponsor. All in all i feel for US citizens and how bad the money is holding a grasp over the whole country in all three branches, executive, judicial and legislative. In short: statistics are one thing, what you do with it is another, its all part of messaging, and all part of how you interpret it and deal with it. And most importantly who is the highest bidder behind the current politician that is speaking this goes for both Democrats and Republicans.

I didn''t really think that medicare would be this bad, but it makes perfect sense. We have the absolute most expensive healthcare of any western nation, why wouldn't the government be paying a ridiculous premium on it? They pay ridiculous prices for everything else, why not medicare?

When I need more money for groceries, I have to cut somewhere else. No ice cream, no cable, maybe no vacation this year. The average citizen understands budget. Why doesn't govt? Crap math only exists in DC.

Mr. Schweikert , do the American people get tax brakes for the schools that were built with our tax dollars, but now with no population growth...are being closed? After all... each school district gets somewhere around $10-15,000./year/student. Where does this money go once these schools are silently closed ? And... the obesity epidemic is caused by the poor Standard American Diet (SAD) that has been pushed on societies' families by Big Agg, medicine, phama. and food industries who are supported with our tax dollars by our government. All these problems could disappear if we supported the proper way to grow food and the proper foods to eat. And...legal and illegal immigrants should not collect Social Security UNTIL they have been made citizens, and have paid into the system.

I saw our debt problem coming 30 years ago (I was 30 years old). I asked my father (an accountant and self made man) what the solution was. He said our government gives way too much money to our “allies” and we spend far too much money on military/defense. The only solution is to stop giving money to countries that never intend to pay back what they borrowed. And stop defending borders that aren’t ours.

I'm glad he spoke on this. When I was watching the debate I was hoping to hear more statistics and numbers but I was disappointed.

How about the congress and senate just take a 2 year vacation. No voting period for 2 years.

Why are there so many empty seats? Those seats are for people we have voted into office to represent their constituents and are not even at these hearings anymore.!?

How is it that you know how long it has been when this federal debt and deficit got started. Try looking four decades ago and watch it steadily increase and our government has refused to do anything but constantly increasing the federal debt and deficit and thinking that you and I will be there to bail the government out of debt and deficit with ever increasing taxes and refusing to cut spending money to placate other countries with money that they don't want have.

I did the math on the 500mill statement, that equals around 83-84 minutes of borrowing.

This is what should have been ran before the debate. Then, all THREE candidates can speak on what they will do after we all watch this, and everyone becomes aware of the math.
