@@xConceptz1 Funny, against the Jaguars I was sitting no more than 40 yards from where DJ dropped 2 passes that hit him right in both hands, uncontested, that never registered as drops. I think the NFL statistician got into an argument with DJ last year and he was fired, as the dude had at least 8 this year.

He was my favorite player. He was ever since his rookie year, when I thought he could be the next AB. He was the first guy I watched when I consistently started following the Steelers every game. Sad to see him go

Bro. You must be young. I am so offended you just said DJ could be the next AB. Ab was FEARLESS!! Ab loved football and worked harder than anyone. He didn’t run backwards to avoid contact, not fall on fumbles or block for his teammates. Ab LOVED football and would put his neck on the line to win. DJ has NONE of these qualities while also not even being half the player AB was. Please go watch Ab so you can see. Ab is the reason I can’t stand Dj because I was spoiled watching a HOF.

Damn I actually saw him run backwards and not lose yards once last season. He was actually a good route runner but there were some bad times and he had not earned any right to be a prima donna. The Steelers would have gotten more for him if other teams thought he was a valuable addition.

Steelers should have traded him once he made the pro bowl and signed a 'cap friendly' contract. That is when he had real trade value, but instead we held him and his 147 targets, 86 receptions, 0 TDs, and then his notorious ignoring a Warren fumble could only get us a 6th round pick.

@@IComeHereForTheFood we needed a cb2 more than a wr2. We draft really good at WR. It makes sense. Plus we have Smith as OC now. We will be pretty run heavy on offense. I'm also a johnson fan but this makes alot of sense and we saved cap space to draft a really good reciever

Only worry is Donte Jackson suffered a torn Achilles that put him on the IR in 2022 in week 10. In 2023 he had zero INTs, and only defended 5 passes in 16 games. I hope he can get back to 100%.

No. I think the comp is a little light. A 3rd or 4th round draft pick in addition to the 6th round draft pick and Jackson would be adequate comp in my mind.

@@benporkolab9903 Diontae salary is gone. Diontae attitude is gone. Pickens is WR1. Smith run very few 3 WR sets, so he's not needed. CA3 is 1 full year healthy. Draft is great for replacing him.

Of where the Panthers draft order is it's a great trade considering not only the lack of production from DJ, but the penalties for taunting and especially for not finishing plays. You also have to consider the fact that he's always "injured" whenever he's not getting the ball thrown his way. And I understand his frustrations because KP8 is trash, but he'd drop passes that were webbed in the basket.

gotta think they go Brian Thomas Jr. or Adonai Mitchel rd. 1. If theyre lucky Frazier in rd 2. So is Dan Moore jr. still LT and B Jones stays at RT? If they dont sign a RT in FA (Becton, Brown) it looks that way. Also they need a SS next in FA.

DJ had his warts, he would do some stupid things but he is an elite route runner, gonna be hard to replace. I hope Jackson is an improvement over Peterson/Wallace or this trade will obviously be a bust. Look forward to seeing some tape on Jackson.

Dionte Johnson was drafted to be AB's replacement & he's far from that. The Steelers were already thin at the receiver postion last year & they got rid of 2 receivers on the roster. They're in trouble.

Bittersweet, I always liked Diontae and thought he caught way too much heat (unlike the ball, haha, jk). By the end of his time here, the lack of effort on the plays where he didn’t get the ball were unacceptable. Hopefully Donte will solidify our CB2 spot and there are plenty of solid WRs in the draft. Eyes on Roman Wilson in the 2nd? 👀

Was hoping DJ would change his tune with Wilson coming in, but apparently not. This could be an absolutely horrible deal for DJ personally, going to Carolina and an even more struggling offense in his contract year…other than the fact that Carolina recently overpaid for M Sanders so maybe they will be foolish and do so again for DJ. I can’t imagine DJ stepping on the field without a new contract.

Look Diontae is a very talented WR who brought some good memories... but BYE BYE BOY. His bum ass wanted to be traded, and judging by this trade and his (lack) of apparent surprise, I believe it now. He took off plays and seemed to care little about the success of his other teammates when the dude can't even bring himself to jump on a fumble. Volunteers, not hostages.

Dionte and Steelers were a terrible fit. Dionte is soft with a poor attitude and temper tantrums and a hefty salary with unequal production. While the Steelers had trash QB play and terrible offensive scheming for him to be utilized.
