I made the switch to valve index a while ago but never got to use it since my pc’s gpu broke and I haven’t been able to play vr bc my quest 2 finally gave out after 4 years or so. This is an AMAZING video and I love how u expanded things. I recently heard about the “speed boost” but didn’t rlly understand it but it makes sense that it’s bc of the better tracking. ❤❤

I'll go over the "Valve boost" briefly; there's no "boost", pcvr just gets higher predictions as they don't have to worry about battery usage. That's the whole reason standalone doesn't have high preds by default, the higher the preds, the higher the battery and gpu usage. Meanwhile pcvr has better performance so playing on higher preds feels more natural due to the fewer count of what we call "artifacts", which are prodominant in lower fps(think of it as screen tearing). It feels like a boost although it's only a preds difference, if valve and quest 2 were to both play 90hz, 25preds, they'd play almost the exact same; the alterior being valve has heavier controllers but better performance. Pc is better for Normal walls and ground speed, standalone is better for branches, ground control, and slip running. For your run break it into sections with steps, Firstly show your front hand and let them practice that, afterwards show the other hand. Steps make learning much easier, furthermore it reduces the ammount of videos you have to do over it.

that is true but index physics are diffrent, its not no boost but its a higher conntrollor frequency that makes you faster, you can also see that when hes running he is barely floating so its not high preds, but still good explenation.

Now remove the physics and such and every KZfaqr on valve would be so bad or just worse I’m on quest 3 with pro controllers and now people are saying 60hz is bannable which is unfair if because valve players would dominate and it’s impossible to do ground or walls without 60hz
