I hope to do a weekly tutorial...if there is enough interest..tutorial Tuesday? First edition on a Monday, lol. I tried to make an intro/outro for this one, it’s a work in progress. 😁 please subscribe & like if you think this will help you or a friend, or if you just want to be nice. 👍😆

I like you . You're honest, I've only been hoping 10 months and breaks have been easy. Paddles no and shoulder hooping. Lol. I cannot for the life of me use anything over 30 inches tho. Idk why but have a 33 and 36 and have tried even bigger and they aren't any easier for me.

Thank you. 😁How tall are you and build? What it all boils down to is practice and letting the hoop fall to be honest. The more that your muscles do the thing you’re trying to learn, you make the connection in your brain for new motor patterns. When I’m trying to learn a new thing I try to break down the movement into smaller patterns of movement if that makes sense? Put your hand on your chest (if you hoop left use your left hand), when you feel the hoop on the back of your wrist use it to push the hoop faster to the left. Make adjustments until you feel it on the back of your wrist. Let that hoop fall if it must and practice this until you can push it and goes on an even horizontal plane. (It helps to practice in both directions, however it can be discouraging at first, so just get your natural current direction down first.) This will be the foundation to the movement of the paddle. It’s not natural so it takes longer to achieve. Keep it up though and you’ll eventually be able to do it with your eyes closed. 😘

@@jessicaellen848 thank you for responding so quickly. I've been trying to shoulder hoop to no avail. So I'm trying to learn inside braking and things. Now I'm tired from the little I've done. But I try to video myself just to learn from it. And I guess I need to drill more. Classes haven't helped as much as tutorials 😁

I can try to get a shoulder hooping tutorial together for you if think it might help? I get it with the classes, it’s hard when there are so many people trying to learn at the same time and there’s only one instructor. Your best friend for shoulder hooping will be turning in a circle and a larger hoop, not heavier just larger. It gives you time to get it around your body.

When learning these on body hoop things I use a hoop that goes about up to my belly button when it’s resting on the ground. I’m 5ft and that seems to be about a 33OD for me. Are you using heavy larger hoops? What material are they made of? Do you know the diameter of the tubing? Sorry so many questions, I promise they are relevant. 😂

I loved this! I never thought of starting bent over. Trying this now. My main problem is I started out trying with a 32”polypro. Ordering a bigger hoop now.

You don't need to order one, I can teach you how to make one! :D You can make a ton of practice hoops for the price of one larger hoop, it's too easy not to....

bigger hoops help a lot at first, just watch how heavy the hoop is, you could really injure your wrists..I sprained my wrist something fierce! Then I had to stop practicing all together to heal. So take it easy, take breaks or change it up every so often. Good luck, you WILL nail it!

Absolutely clear video! But can you do a video on what you did towards the end. I have my breaks down but I don’t understand what your hand is doing when it goes inside the hoop to break the paddle. I want to learn that more than anything but can’t find a video with a tutorial showing how. Please let me know if you’re willing! I’ve been hooping for 2 1/2 years and I have my drills. But can’t drill a move I can’t get the concept of lol

You’re welcome. It’s important. Hooping is a skill and can’t develop the skill without practice. 😘 I promise you, everyone started off the same and they just developed their skills. ❤️ Muscle memory is everything, but it takes a LOT of repetitions to develop. 😁

Life has thrown me some crazy events and I’ve never really recovered. Stay with with it though sis, you will NAIL it. 😘😘😘

Hey, I thought of you the other day when I was practicing. Try to move your body with the break so when you send it back you can use your body for momentum. Also, don’t hit the hoop hard with your hand (or whatever you’re breaking with). Use your body more. Hope this makes sense and you’re coming along ok. 😁
