Stacy, if you look to build a fast break and transition offense, the link is in the description. Unfortunately, youtube doesn't allow us to post links in the comments. If you want more competitive 1on1 drills, we also have 30 Competitive Skill Drills on our website. You can find that by going to the menu on the left hand side and click on DVDs & Books.

I need some help. I am coaching some freshman students and hopefully build up from there but it’s my 1st year coaching and no one bother to coach this year so I stepped up. I need to know where to look for great teaching and effective teaching? What to do during practice to make it worth it? And how to make them discipline and ready for varsity level? Need some help, offer some advice if you need too.

what is the difference between '1 v 1 attack' and beating the defender in a 1 v 1 situation? or are they the same thing. PS. i know nothing about Bball hence im asking.
@BreakthroughBBall
@BreakthroughBBall 10 жыл бұрын
Nothing really. They just might be a slightly different situation that they will experience during a game.

I like this coach's philosophy but this drill has injured a few of my players the past two seasons and I stopped running it. The purpose of the drill is GREAT. Gets kids going hard to the hoop. But dang if my team doesn't beat the hell out of each other until somebody has an injury. If you have players that can resist hurting each other in this drill...then good. But count how many kids end up on the floor, or land awkwardly or get their head elbowed like in early part of video. I had a kid get two pins in his elbow after breaking it doing this drill. In my opinion, this drill should be done with a coach underneath with a pad to bump the player.

If they get injured during a drill like this in practice, imagine how it's gonna be in games.. Just teach the kids on D to not jump into the player

Good point there was an injury on this drill at 2:45 one player took an elbow in the face and walked off the court.

But the truth is if you don’t protect your ball good enough, chances are you gonna miss your layups. Look at how many shots those kids have missed already
