Do you want to know more about the new breast cancer mammogram guidelines released in the US this week?
The US Preventative Task Force recommended that women are screened every two years from the age of 40 to 74, instead of starting at 50 years of age

In this video I will tell you why recommendations were made to change the guidelines, what that means for you and how you can have your say.
First, I'll tell you the pros and cons of mammograms, as they aren't 100% accurate. Although they save lives by detecting breast cancers at an earlier stage, meaning more women avoid a mastectomy and chemotherapy, some women will have biopsies and even surgery for harmless lumps.
There are 3 reasons why the guidelines were changed
1 - breast cancer is becoming more common in women in their 40s
2 - mammograms are getting better at detecting breast cancer
3 - African American women are more likely to die from breast cancer - so starting mammograms at the age of 40 will hopefully identify these women at an earlier stage
You can have your say on the recommendations here

As a bonus at the end of the video I show you 4 ways you can reduce your risk of breast cancer today
