I had breast pain with no other symptoms My mammogram came back with no malignancies but advised to have an ultrasound due to dense breast tissue. I was diagnosed with cancer and had surgery two weeks ago, Lumpectomy and lymph node removal. I am glad I got my pain investigated 😊

I’ve been experiencing chest pains since August 2022 I had a mammogram but my gyno canceled it due to me only being 24 be looked at it and said it’s fiborcyctsic. He said breast pain doesn’t indicate breast cancer. In 2023 I noticed weight loss and dimpling as well as discoloration. And now 2024 it’s been night sweats and breast lumps with occasional chest pains. I’ve had 2 other gyno say it’s nothing but finally found one who ordered an ultrasound after months of chest pain. Anyone experiencing this pls don’t stop seeking until you ATLEAST get an ultrasound. Especially if you’re young because they dismiss everything when you’re young. Yet give you no diagnosis. 🙄

I had breast pain, went for a mamogram and: it was triple positive breast cancer. I am 73 years old and had a normal mamogram 1 year before. So ...go to het checked!!! Thanks dear doctor, lots of health!!

It was extremely helpful. I have a pain at the left breast, but actually I do not know if it is a muscle pain or the breast. What is strange is that I feel like the pain, or part of the pain, goes also to my back. For the last two weeks, before my period and now after, the pain is continuous , not very sharp, but somehow continuing.

I had 3 blood spots and my dog kept stroking my breast and would cry as she sat on me and her head would lie on my breast. For 3 years I returned to GP who sent me back to breast clinic, 3 blood spots were getting bigger, yet still the clinic said it's all normal. I refused to leave until someone else looked. All of a sudden this new examiner was asking to do a biopsy. 27 samples they took, it hurt. A couple days later a call came I must return to clinic. I walked in, alone , angry and knew I had breast cancer, my dog told me for ,3 years. I had a ,73mm ilc, with lymph node mets. The NHS tried to hide their obvious negligence, they even lied to legal team. I changed clinics as frankly the poor advice given by them would've killed me. NEVER Trust a Dr over your own instinct or your dog!

The only symptom I had was an “ electrical shock” kind of feeling for months. No lump no nothing. So my GP didn’t think much of it. Thank goodness I finally developed a lump. But by then I already was stage 3. Dr. Liz, this Dutchie thanks you for your video’s, they are really helpful 🩷

I had quite some strong burning pain in my left breast in autumn 2017 and was sent back home after mammo didnt show anything other rmthan very dense tissue. Half a year later I was still alarmed when I felt a thick lymph node. After biopsy I was then diagnosed with a 5cm lump and DCIS HER2+. Luckily Chemotherapie autumn 2018 worked extremely well, I had a mastectomy afterwards which showed no cancer cells left. Still dreading every checkup. Currently I am fighting with radiologists to get a proper checkup since I had denser contrast stuff on the last check. But sibce there is nothi g they see in ultrsound or mammographical check, they refuse😢

I had mild stinging/stabbing pains one side on and off for a couple of months but thought nothing of it. Was invited to be part of a trial considering reducing the age of first screening and was diagnosed with high grade widespread DCIS. Only on meeting my consultant surgeon to discuss options for reconstruction at the time of my mastectomy did I realise that my breast had increased in size compared to the other side. Felt silly but consultant was kind and said we often don’t notice changes that happen over a longer period of time.

Thank you for the info, this was very helpful. Breast cancer survivor and thriver, 3 years ago, and anyone can benefit from all the info you are sharing. Had a single mastectomy, chemo, and radiation, lymph nodes were taken out, and only 5 I did see 2 naturopaths during my treatments and after but didn't find them helpful at all. I had to make suggestions for all supplements with both my naturopaths. But I'm currently seeing the acupuncturist every month for cupping and acupuncture which I find very helpful and a chiropractor too. (the acupuncture and chiropractor were during and after my treatments) I take Vit D3 liquid form, melatonin, turmeric curcumin, an alternate of Coriolus Verisicolor SAP and Reishi SAP, Cod liver oil for supplements, and eat everything in moderation. I was also a stage 3 and triple positive. Thank you again.

Super useful especially for my daughters. Family history stuff is confusing for us. My mum and grandma died of bc - mum diagnosed 48 died at 50, grandma much older. So told, as you just said, not to worry. My sister and I then got breast cancer aged 51 and 52, exactly a year apart. No Brca gene but oncologist thinks we must have some genetic disposition Just putting it out there in case it’s one of things, like breast pain, that we are always told isn’t a risk but in our case it was! sorry if that’s not helpful. I am 27 and had children (my youngest is now over 2yrs). I have been experiencing pain in my right breast, above in chest area and my lower armpit. I have been to a GP, they did physical exam and said all was fine. This was over a year ago. The pain is now almost constant, dull and achey but constant. I still can't feel anything but feel like I am just being paranoid!

The only discomfort I felt was if my boob had been brushed against with sandpaper, and it only began after I received a call back from the breast clinic. Indeed they confirmed breast cancer, stage 1, grade 1, but with no lymph node involvement. A lumpectomy in June, radiotherapy in August and now my last oncology appointment this week. Please check yourself and be persistent with your GP😊

excellent video doctor. i have had burning sensation and shooting pain for a few months now in left breast and my breast is also become larger. ive been complaining to the gyn and mammo team but they find nothing and call it fibriois breasts so ive been ignoring the pain. but now im feeling weird and my shooting and burning pain is waking me. i switched gyn docs and got an appointment next monday. im scared cause this could of been picked up sooner. my 2 year old puppy tries to put his snout into my side near breast to sniff me all the time..please lord, bring me good help, good doctors and merciful loving people.🙏🙌❤️

I have a lump underneath my left breast, quite big interior not visible with the eye. Some sharp little pains that come and go occur there. Should this be alarming?

Dr Liz, this is absolutely terrifying!! If I understand what you're saying here, I may have been ignored by my physician! I'm stage 4, and I had intermittent pain for about a year, not constant, it came and went, not severe, easily ignored, only on the left side, and it radiated, like switched places, I couldn't tell exactly where it hurt, a vague pain. I was 48 years old at the time. My only other symptom was fatigue. There was what I thought might be a vague lump on the left side near my rib cage, I couldn't tell, my husband couldn't tell, the doctor couldn't tell, so he sent me for an ultrasound and a mammogram, and the ultrasound found a tumor nowhere near the "lump" we thought we felt. Not only that, but the tumor was several inches from where the pain was! The pain was near my ribs, and the tumor was more like near/in my armpit. I've always had "lumpy" breasts, so I don't even know that a "lump" woulda tipped me off. TLDR: I can't tell you how emo I felt watching this video. How fortunate am I that my doctor at that time took me seriously?? From the sound of current modern medicine that you're communicating here, maybe he only ordered the tests due to my age?

I would like to add...if you have milk letdown feelings when you are not breast feeding then it's a cause for concern as well. This was my main symptom before I found my lump.

Thank you for all the research you are doing for us. For me, I had only pain. My nipples were sore to the touch and knowing my body, I knew something was terribly wrong. I still had 4 months to go before my next scheduled mammogram but I called my breast doctor and said I needed to be seen. I’m in the 1.6 %. It was only the ultra sound that found it. Ever since the “new & improved” 3D imaging came out I didn’t ask for ultrasound. My fault but how was I to know. The surgeon said it was a slow growing cancer and it had probably been there the last two or three years! After the lumpectomy my surgeon said “we as doctors are disturbed when this happens but your lump was bigger than shown on the MRI and the radiologist noted a rare occurrence … you have “a dusting” of cancer on the bottom portion of that breast “. I’m thinking WTF!?! My decision was to get a double mastectomy. With my anxiety there was no way in hell I could live feeling that I was a waiting time-bomb. God bless all of you good doctors out there. But now I’m sensing a new, I don’t know how to express this, but anger? Being on exemestane for a year and a half, I’ve lost 9.9% of cervical bone & and 6.7 % of femur bone. I think I’m more upset about this than the cancer itself because I’m an active person. Now I wonder if I’m about to crack like Humty-Dumpty. Something MUST be done in the research department. I don’t think cancer will kill me … I think it will be the drugs I’m taking to cure the cancer. My feelings are all over the place. Thank you for letting me vent.

What do you think of having needle biopsy? Isn’t this risky? Had mammogram snd ultra sound plus thermograph and need more tests.

Since starting chemo for TNBC my boob is sore, a bit like when I’m on my period. Is this normal? Does chemo cause your boob with the cancer in to be sore?

Hi Liz, I’m a GP, and ignored my one sided breast pain (no lump) for over 6 months (doctors don’t make great patients)... When I finally asked for a referral, I was diagnosed with a 9cm area of high grade DCIS. It has made me change my practice and I do feel I’m more likely to refer women with breast pain, especially persistent. I do prescribe those with short duration pain a topical NSAID, is there any evidence of benefit from this?

What about being on hrt therapy? Seems like I get cyst more and my breast feel more fibrocystic. I am premenopausal too. Right now they are sore because I am on my cycle. That’s when they bother me the most.

What about pain in right breast?

Its very very very small but it does exist. My.mom...moms mom and my moms sister had bc. My dads sister as well. I have a cyst that only hurt when i was not vegan. Needless to say im not vegan anymore...gained a ton of weight like 50 pounds. And the past 2 weeks i have pain where my cyst is and radiating now... it wont go away at all. Its never been like this before and im extremely worried bec its on the left side...my family history is crapola. And it just doesnt feel right. Maybe its stress bec my dad passed away 6 days ago...maybe its not... i..reading online that it could be a sign of a very rare but fast moving cancer ...inflammatory cancer that has like the worst suvival rate. Im hoping its my cyst changing combined w stress. But wouldnt it come and go kinda and not be so persistent. Like its bad...and my breast feels swollen but its hard to tell bec my left breast has always been bigger. Im so stressed out rn i just want it to go away. Im calling Tomm.to see if they can take me asap since. Its been almost a year since my last exam and terrible family history. Does anyone else have this happen to them?

I had pain in June and GP said it won’t be cancer. However, perhaps worth noting for past three mammograms I was told one part had more fibrous tissue which was normal. Specialist nurse also said not cancer on examination. Sadly mammogram found 26mm mass. So I guess there arguable was two symptoms but both were considered normal by GP and Specialist so worth pursuing to scan

I felt a lump few days back . Its small n hurts a little when pressed. I have really bad hospital anxiety but somehow mustered up d courage n went to my OBGYN today . She did an ultrasound and said everything looks normal. Seems like a little edema n gave some meds. I was so so relieved. 🥲

I am 75 years old I am getting a burning pain in my right breast. It has been going on for quite a few weeks. I also have a dark red spot that has got bigger slowly , it is not a complete circle it has a bit that is different at the top. I have shown this to my GP and also the doctor at the Breast clinic and they both said that it is just a normal Campbell Morgan’s spot. I have quite a few of these spots but all the others are smaller and all round in shape and they do not hurt like the one on my breast. They did give me a Mammogram which they say is normal I accept that . But that mo,e on my breast does worry me.
