Hi (: I can’t speak for her situation directly or in its entirety, but I’ve had a similar situation to hers as far as not being able to breathe properly out of the nose. *The quickest & most direct answer* is that you can still smell.. kind of. Lol. For example, in my situation, I can still smell traces of strong odors, but if someone holds a candle up to my face & tells me to guess the scent, sorry mate- that’s not happening. Simply put, faint scents are hard to smell, whereas strong odors tend to be easier. *BACKGROUND INFO* About two years back, I began experiencing a plethora of severe headaches. I had always suffered from headaches, but the frequency & intensity started to increase so I started thinking that I was simply dehydrated and needed to drink more water. After practically drowning myself with water to no avail, I thought, “I must have a tumor” and quickly self-diagnosed myself as terminal, thinking of all the ways I’d have to say goodbye to my loved ones. After randomly discussing this diagnosis with a few friends and family, the topic of me not being able to breathe and smell properly out of my nose came up. Thinking this was completely normal, I told them that every time I tried breathing out my nose, I felt out of breath and quickly became dizzy and disoriented from not being able to get a proper amount of oxygen to my lungs; I simply could not do it without my mind going into panic mode and forcing me to breathe through my mouth. Totally normal.. right? I quickly realized it wasn’t. Soon after, I went to an ENT specialist to find out what was going on. Turns out I had a severe chronic sinus infection (Chronic Sinusitis) for what was probably more than half of my life, one telltale sign being the recurring headaches. After realizing that drowning myself in water was not going to fix this problem, I decided to undergo Endoscopic Sinus Surgery. To aid in your understanding of this surgery, according to the Mayo Clinic, “...the doctor uses a thin, flexible tube with an attached light (endoscope) to explore your sinus passages. Depending on the source of obstruction, the doctor might use various instruments to remove tissue or shave away a polyp that's causing nasal blockage. Enlarging a narrow sinus opening also may be an option to promote drainage.” Everything listed is what was performed on me. While it did alleviate some of the congestion for a bit, I honestly still feel the way I did pre-surgery. I’ve begun to think I may need to revisit the ENT specialist, but considering the quarantine I’m currently under, I might just have to suffocate a little more before I can make a visit to him.

tal personally i cant solely depend on my nose to breathe. you can still “breathe” but its not sufficient. since i can still somewhat breathe through my nose i can still smell. some days its really bad and some days it doesnt affect me too much!

LVX EDEN I’m also gonna get surgery when I’m older cus I have a deviation. I can breath but very poorly. So it would be amazing to breath better because I have a pretty bad deviation. I’m not sure if she had it as bad as me but I’m sure it was similar.

Alondra Reyes because they took cartilage out of her head and rib to put into her nose when they like re form it because that’s after than using silicone or something else, she said it in her last video :)

@Alondra Reyes Also the doctors said it would be safer to use parts from her own body for her nose than to use silicon because it's plastic and the body will most likely try to 'reject' it, and so it won't last or it'll look weird.

@@briajacque nah, I had one to get rid of my bump and my eyes didn't swell at all, it's only if they break the sides of your nose to make it smaller that it swells. Like if I wanted my nose bridge to be thinner, they would've done that and my eyes would have been swollen.
