The St. Johannes Church in Bad Zwischenahn: A historical landmark
The St. Johannes Church in Bad Zwischenahn is more than 850 years old and one of the oldest buildings in the Oldenburger Land.
Built in the Romanesque style in 1124, the church bears witness to a long and eventful history. Over the centuries it was redesigned and expanded several times, including the addition of a church tower and the conversion of the gable roof into a cathedral vault.
Today the St. Johannes Church is a popular excursion destination and an important cultural center in the Bad Zwischenahn community.
