This is absolutely fascinating to all of us (including me) flying the F-1CZ in DCS World - its clear that going 'into the red' on the AOA meter is tolerated better than expected, and sustainable for hard turning. The other thing that's interesting is the use of the NS430 GPS below the HUD - it opens the door to modernising the simulated F-1 to the good.

Plenty of sustained turns at 300 knots and red aoa meter. Also the afterburner seems to engage a little bit faster here than in the DCS model.

I wish everyone who likes speed can experience how it feel when you dump some fuel into the engine exhaust, the first time you feel it you’re not sure if you struggling to breathe properly because of the thrust or because of the sheer adrenaline kicking in so hard that you might as well have been on drugs the way it’s affecting you.

what is SAAF's main aircraft?
@henkackermann9986
@henkackermann9986 4 жыл бұрын
Main fighting aircraft were the Mirage F1 & F3 deltawing and Impala mk 1 & 3 Italian origin fighter before 1994 .
@GryffieTube

The SAAF never had a "main" aircraft" but different aircraft for different roles. The SAAF's main "interceptor" aircraft during the Bushwar were the Mirage IIICZ, and later Mirage F1CZ aircraft. The Mirage F1AZ you see in the video had limited air-to-air capability but was mainly a ground attack platform. The Cheetah E and C were intended replacements for the SAAF's ageing fleet of Mirages except these were more multi-role fighters developed by Atlas Aircraft Corporation toward the end of the bushwar. South Africa's main multi-role fighter aircraft today is the SAAB JAS 39C Gripen. The SAAF also operated a single seat light attack aircraft, the Aermacchi MB326K and later manufactured under license by Atlas Aircraft Corporation as the Impala MkII. A two seater version, the Impala MkI was also later introduced. SAAF Impalas were also used in an air-to-air role during the bushwar mainly for taking out Soviet made helicopters. The SAAF has many other aircraft, too many to list here, including transport-, recconnaissance-, maritime reconnaissance-, trainer- and various other types of aircraft. South Africa once produced it's own "Super Puma" helicopters known as the Atlas Oryx and one of the best, if not THE best, helicopter gunship in the world at the time, the Atlas Rooivalk. What is the SAAF's main aircraft today? I certainly cannot answer that for certain but judging by the SAAF's disproportionately large fleet of VIP aircraft for whisking ANC and other government officials around, the SAAF's "main" aircraft nowadays might very well be the Dassault Falcon 900A.
