my first landing at the Leh airport was in the year 1976 in an AN 12 AF plane from Chandigarh. It was an awesome experience.

Absolutely breathtaking, it was almost like the aircraft touching the snowcapped cliffs. Pilots ought to be commended for their courage in flying over the difficult terrain

They were literally On "TOP" of the World !!! Hit like all those who want to see the cockpit view of the flight !!!!

My dad works in indian Airforce and we have been in leh ..ladakh for 6months...it was really a very nice and beautiful place...

Looks stunning... It looks like mother nature covered these mountains with soft white woolen coat

Now imagine that place being a battlefield !! 😶😶 ( Actually , Siachen is at more height than this ) Hats off to our soldiers !!!

LEH AIRPORT is now being widened and expanded now after the formation of the ladakh UT. Control towers and all weather airport buildings and terminals are being constructed as per the ordered project

Thanks for sharing the awesome view. Whenever it comes to the Himalayas, there's this animated sort of video that runs in my mind. As if I'm watching a fast-forward time lapses from high above the orbit. Disintegration of Pangea, the Indian subcontinent drifting towards mainland Asia as an island over millions of years and the slow but extremely forceful impact, which also took millions of years; the fact that this impact is still in the process. The time when the Himalayas had their first snowfall and also somewhere in the near future when all the glaciers would have all melted after the last of Mini Ice Age our planet is likely to experience probably in a decade or so. I'm sure the Himalayas would still be mesmerising to the future generations albeit in a different way.

If it's possible, to connect Hadsar with Keylong, as aerial distance is just 75km, but other two routes via Pangi (Sanch pass) and Manali (Rohtang pass) are 350-375km longer, India will never get defeated in Northern State of Himachal and Ladakh UT. If Hadsar get connected to Keylong with few kms of tunnels & bridges, Leh to Pathankot (already equipped with 4lane NH1 & broad gauge rail) distance will be shortened by 9-10hrs (275-300kms). Due to Chamera Dams projects on Raavi river, existing roads till Bharmour are already widened. If the rail cum road project is built between Pathankot, Chamba, Bharmour, Hadsar and Keylong, it will bring 1. It will bring dead-end Chamba district, into middle of economic activity and boost Himachal & Ladakh economy significantly. 2. It will bring Leh very near to rest of India, more opportunity will come for Ladakhi & Himachalis locals. 3. The shorter Pathankot-Hadsar-Keylong rail link will complement Bilaspur-Manali-Keylong-Leh rail & road project in all weathers. 4. Other
