This is one of the most beautiful and informative videos I have ever seen. I not only know about LAM, but I have a new appreciation of what illness is. It does not define a person. Whew! It was so good to hear your story about the group of families who had lost a child. My first son died from SIDS and I lost my second to drugs--but my life has had to move on. Sometimes I feel a bit of shame around not having a heavier heart long term. I did suffer terribly for some years, but had to heal and move forward! Subsequent to this, I worked as a hospice nurse where I encountered (and felt on a deep gut level) the immediate grief expressed by a number of parents who had just watched their child die. It always brought me back to that same moment in my life, but I had to quickly let that go and support the newly bereaved parent--hoping more than anything that they would also learn to move on, carrying the child in their heart, but not letting the loss consume their heads and lives. That said, I don't yet live life as fully as I wish to--there's more work to be done, growth to achieve... Thank you for this video!

Hello. My name is Laurie and I too have LAM. I was diagnosed in 2000 when I was 19 years old, due to a collapsed lung. Since then I've had many more collapses(7 in total) and a number of surgeries. I am now 27 and I'm completely oxygen dependent. Over the years, my pulmonary doc told me that my lung function was slowly deteriorating. At my last appointment, last month, I was told that I'm down to 30% lung function. Thanks for posting this video! My thoughts and prayers are with you!
