Is it normal for them to leave the shell? My one I saw them breeding the female stopped guarding the shell but the male stays there

I'm a breeder from Mysore, 🇮🇳. They should start breeding when they are over 2.5 years. Male should attain it's maturity much later

The male is about 5” and the female about 3”. I’ve heard people claim 7” max but never seen a Comp that big.

Eggs that hatched and are now "wigglers". They spend a little over 2 weeks developing into small fish before leaving the safety of the cave.
