@thecaptain6730
@thecaptain6730 4 ай бұрын
Yes, even on the Picard series, they just used contemporary speech, patterns, and contemporary slogans. My favorite example is when Picard was on the bridge as an admiral in season two, and he told his crew to “stay on task.“ That is a phrase that a teacher says to students in a classroom now. But that’s all the writers knew. That’s how they think a captain or admiral would speak to his crew. Good grief!
@bl8danjil

Cause Marvel and Disney made quipy heroes and villains popular and since producers and executives can't critically think, they just see that and go "Do that!" so now most stuff you see is unbreable quippy characters good or bad. Don't get me wrong, quipy can work if the writing is good but we know studios don't pay for good writing so we get this shit.

It's social conditional programming for developing minds. In other words, it is propaganda that is espousing what those controlling the narrative want as 'allowable and acceptable speech and attitudes'. Read, 'The Undiscovered Self" by Carl Jung. He talks of the masses and how they are conditioned in the first chapter.

I like the way they explain the Breen in the extended universe books. There, they’re actually lots of different species from multiple planets and cultures and they wear the suits and helmets 99% of the time. They only ever remove any of it when they’re in absolute privacy. The idea behind it is that with the suits, helmets, and scramblers, they all look alike, even to one another, with no one being able to tell what species another person is, so most ingrained prejudices and racist attitudes are curbed because no one knows what anyone is underneath it all.
@MajorGrin

so they have no social life ? how do they mate / form families / children ? it doesn't really make much sense . and why the need for refrigeration in the suits?
@craiglee3048
@craiglee3048 4 ай бұрын
@@MajorGrin most of the suits don’t have refrigeration. Some do. Each one is outfitted for the atmospheric needs of its occupant. They have some kind of complex pairing lottery but I’ve not read enough of the novels to know how they handle coupling and such. I know most of the social stuff is regulated in a way very reminiscent of Mao era Chinese communism with a little peak Soviet paranoia thrown in. I’ve no idea how they have children as they’re all fairly paranoid about breaking the rules, such as removing your helmet.
