The Minecraft Survival Guide Season 3 continues in Minecraft 1.21 - the Tricky Trials Update!
In today's video, we return to both Trial Chambers to set up Breeze traps, letting us farm Breeze Rods for Wind Charges. We experiment with Trial Spawner mechanics, learn about their range and line of sight behaviours, including their ability to see players through transparent blocks!
Eventually we build a trap around the Breeze spawner which allows players to stand nearby and safely farm Breezes.
Along the way we learn another similarity between the Blaze and the Breeze, we discover most Trial Spawners want to spawn mobs on solid blocks, and I hatch a plan to make Slimes into jam.

For anyone who want to use trapdoors, remember that wood trapdoors and levers will flip with the wind charges spawned during ominous trials. Don't make the same mistake as me, use iron trapdoors with redstone block.

It's cool to be here for an update that has the potential for so many new farms that haven't already been designed to maximum efficiency by technical wizards. We get to actually play around with it as a community and see what works.

To collect the loot from the spawner you can use a hopper minecart below. To get the breeze, let them spawn in the air then put water below to direct all of them to one block. You can also direct them to a nether portal and they will be considered dead by the spawner while they accumulate in the nether. You can stay afk in the overworld to generate the breezes and collect loot like keys and then go to the nether to kill the many breezes waiting there to get the breeze rods.

I like the jam jar! I've been doing some of my own experiments. What I've been doing is clearing out blocks/having a solid wall 4 blocks out from the spawner in each direction, which ensures that the (non-breeze) mobs always spawn right on top of the spawner. Then I've been using a piston with a sculk sensor on top to push the mob off into a water tray, then I funnel them down into a 3x3 drop chute (because large slimes) where I can kill them manually. I've found that slimes will need a separate block to spawn on because the piston will prevent them from spawning on top of the spawner, but they usually pathfind into the water tray pretty quickly or you can use an iron golem lure. What I like about using the sculk sensor is that it will also push the item into the water stream as well. So far that's worked great for slimes, husks, and skeletons. I haven't tried it with the breeze yet but they can be pushed by water streams so I think it will work? I like the water trays though for areas that have a lot of spawners in a small area, which my trial chamber has a lot of. Something else I've also found out is if you have the killing chamber outside the bounding box of the trial chamber, you can avoid all the potion effects and arrows from the ominous trials.

Love the Survival Guide! The issue with the price is that going into an "item elevator". If you want it to drop where the mobs are spawning, put a block on top and leave air blocks around it. Item will go into the block and jump to the side, if there's blocks around the item will go up one block and try to go out to the side again

You should consider modifying a Breeze spawner to send them to the Nether. Since the Breezes are in the Nether, the spawner keeps going because the mob is out of the radius, but not killed. When you kill all the ones that piled up in the Nether, it won't contribute to the kills because they're not in the same dimension.

I think the mobs from trail spawners require solid blocks to spawn, except breezes, as they don’t take fall damage. Also, if you crouch then use the wind charge at your feet as you jump, you can get 11 ish blocks up. If you immediately activate your elytra and look forward/ slightly up, you can get up to 20 blocks high!!!

Im pretty sure Breeze Rods still drop if your DOG kills it (I use armored dogs in Trial Chambers and found droped Rods where Im sure I didnt kill a Breeze myself), and I know some farms utilize Dogs similarly so there is probably some way to do that. Also -- if Dispensers can put Armor on Wolves this might not even mean the dog dies after a while? TLeaves the question how to aggro dogs on the Breeze in the first place)

After clearing a chamber of all related blocks then creating a glass "fish bowl" around the spawners, I placed a piston facing the spawner and removed all blocks so the only spawnable block was the spawner. Leaving 2 blocks above the spawner, I pillared up to the ceiling and then placed blocks on top of the piston to the ceiling.(This was most likely not necessary but I was experimenting here.) I used tripwire hooks on the block above the piston to power it when they spawn and push them off. Additionally I added a circuit to activate the pistons from the drop location to push the loot and any stubborn mobs that hang around without tripping the wire. Ground level is water to push everything to a bubblevator to drop on a hopper for... collection. All the different locations loot is pushed by water to a central storage system. One of the fish bowls is huge and I needed to place ladders to climb up and activate the spawners.I have a spot where there was only a Breeze and Skeleton spawner. For the Breeze I went 3 blocks out from the original platform and only occasionally does it spawn outside. Above and below are 6 blocks away. Next one I'll try 4 wide. This one only had Breeze, Skeleton, and Zombie spawners. Looking forward to encountering others. It was a grind, but the end result was fun.

@Pixlriffs
@Pixlriffs Ай бұрын
Mob sounds like zombie groans wouldn’t get picked up by the sculk sensors - they listen for vibrations, which are usually created by movement and actions (like a button being pressed, a block being broken, etc). Skeleton or zombie footstep sounds might work, but you’d have to make sure they didn’t hear the player footstep sounds too.

I use NBT Explorer to do all sort of crazy things with the game, but cant figure out where you go to increase the span radius of a spawner to what ever you want, I think it was in 1.9 you could it was a simple x y z thing.
