Really enjoyed this review, lately I'm going crazy about a nice frosted finishing on the movement. Also, I want to say you have probably the nicest watch channel on KZfaq, the only source where we can see these crazy ultra high end pieces in detail, and for most of us it's as close as we are gonna get to seeing them. So please keep 'em coming 😁

Such a great looking watch. When designing a movement you want the barrel and the balance to be about 50% of dial diameter - some clearence, so 18mm balance in a 40mm watch or 24mm balance in my 50mm pocketwatch. This sort of ratio shows a good design process as does a movement being the right size for the watch. Same goes for a tourbillon. This aproach has kinda changed recently with super high frequency movements and bloody micro rotors but id stear clear of those anyway! And its always interesting to see how people use space and weather its used properly.

Great review Steve, thanks for showing it to us. That fuseé chain system is exactly how deraillour (sic u know what I mean, the gears on racing bicycles) work to allow you to get up hills or get up speed on the flat. I wonder what was first. I'd imagine the watch system was copied by cycle designers? Great timepiece though that really lives up to the analog computer title, I wouldn't be surprised if for ie the norden bomb sight etc had similar mechanisms to give constant force where and if needed?

Wonderful Steve. I saw one of these in the Breguet boutique here in Vienna and it really is gorgeous. I own an English pocket watch from the early 19th century with a fusee, lovely things to behold. Just a point of clarification the Fusee is actually the cone, not the chain.

its arts and craft functionality before aesthetics. in 1972 at my school us boys had a metal room and the finishing of that watch has the bland look of the stuff we used to knock out in base metal.

hey not sure if you respond to comments but im looking to get a new piece to add to my collection. my budget is 11,000. I realize you showcase many very high end watches, I really like some of the avant-garde watches that you showcase. im wondering if you have any recommendations that might fall more inline with my budget. focusing on uniqueness.

Arnold and Son: Time Pyramid. They have a few different versions but the one with the gold case-back is stunning. Price range is 12k to 18k depending on which case-back you pick. Check Chrono24 ;)

@@swanhtet1 I have seen both in person under a loupe and the Breguet has very low end finishing compared to the Logical One.

@@richardr2555 i have also seen both in person but not under the loupe. You are correct that logical one has a better finishing but that does not mean 7047 is/looks like a low grade. Maybe you prefer the aesthetic and finishing of a logical one. I also like the Logical One a lot but these two watches are beautiful in different ways. 7047 is more of a retro futuristic steampunk vibe whereas the logical one is a relatively more modern futuristic watch with superb finishing. And when you are wearing and enjoying either of the watches on your wrist, it is very likely that it will not be viewed under the loupe.

@@swanhtet1 I agree with your assessment. I guess to me the Breguet looks more rustic and I prefer the more modern look of the Logical One. It has more black polished surfaces and over a dozen sharp interior angles. No mean feat to accomplish.
