Just want to say I really appreciate this write-up. I really like Tableturf, but I tend to be rather unga-bunga when I play, so it's nice to get some insight on how these cards are used. Here's hoping that the inevitable new Brella's card will be more effective.

I dont mind any cards being weak or op in tableturf since they all have the same playstyle i just dont care what ends up being brokenly meta or not lol.

Woah, let's not get ahead of ourselves here... It still has Tenta Missiles and while they aren't broken anymore, they're still a terrible design. The fewer missiles we can get, the better.

Reef still has missiles which assists its painting power and missiles arent broken anymore and also can’t be spammed without negatively affecting gameplay. It’s in a healthy spot and also, let’s not assume it has worse paint? They never said it can’t paint as well, it’s wrong to assume so.

Yah, my guess is that the paint is larger for each shot to compensate for each shot landing closer to each other.

@@twewymuncher​​⁠​​⁠​​⁠Missiles ARE absolutely still broken, they just aren’t as frequent anymore due to all of the special-charge nerfs on it (points for special), also there really arent any hard-sitters backline weapons in this meta and it’s a very mobile one thx to Cooler, Inkjet, etc., which automatically means bad things & stuff in general for Missiles which likes no, LOVES sitting targets and ducks, Missiles is still just a very broken (and unfun) Special by design (and current stats too), it just can’t thrive off in this meta but once it becomes relevant again we’re suddenly gonna start seeing a lot more Missiles-spam then……. Also it’s not wrong to assume (i mean yeah assuming is actually wrong in general, but going both by the patch notes AND datamine [which footage you can see of in this video itself…]) in this case because you can see its current painting in the game itself and if you reduce the angle on each side 15• you’ll see that each shot will be closer and therefore overlap more easily THEREFORE again worsening the paint, it’s not assuming, it’s just how math and geometry works man…, sorry but you’re just wrong on all aspects of your argument there man, but i can tell you what’s actually wrong to assume, it’s wrong to assume that THESE are all the changes were getting, after all it’s not that unlikely to get a ghost change or they just forget to list a change or something in the patch notes, they actually listed a fix for the wrong map for the 5.0.0 patch or maybe it was the 4.1.0 patch idk i dont remember, but regardless its still pretty unlikely (but not impossible) that they just forgot to say they buffed its painting in return for its combat-fighting capability buff, so in conclusion its pretty safe to say its painting just got worse, but id say its more of a positive and healthier change overall either way, nobody likes missiles, even when theyre not being spammed, the less missiles the better.

honestly special spam hasn't actually been a useful strategy for months ever since tenta missiles got their output nerfed (in a very similar change to the one tacticooler just got.) so any nerf to that unhealthy playstyle has already happened; it's just sort of unnecessary.

I think the buff might be tailored to fighting in close-quarters combat. Like if an opponent really gets up close, the narrower spread will allow you to hit them more consistently. Considering the buff applies to only its tap and half-charge shots, it could prove to be more useful than useless

Lag will either make the weapon broken or useless, the same with brella. Either you account for lag and it becomes an amazing weapon in tourney or you design it for tournaments but it's useless online. There's almost no middle ground because of Nintendo's servers. Or should I say lack of servers? It's a good idea in theory but it won't work and someone will be frustrated, either the player or the enemies.

@hisen3.146 or just make the parry last like, 3 seconds and turn into a shield or shoot off afterwards.

@@BlueBerry20071 That's not a parry then, it's a no-shot zone on a regular weapon. 3 seconds that stops enemies from attacking the objective. Unless you want to suggest it breaks after a certain amount of damage, that will also be flawed since it gives Ink Vac no use since that takes up a special spot. I don't think theres a feesable way to make a parry main weapon viable yet not overpowered *and* not completely invalidate a special that does the same job but worse.

@@hisen3.146 make it reflect damage instead of just tank8ng it. That's what a parry is. If somebody dies to a parried bullet, the shield is put on cooldown.

@@MinoriGaming They're talking about the killer wail quality of life changes, which I'd consider a buff. Even with those buffs though, the only buffs that have really helped Tri-Stringer are the damage buff, the points for special buff, and the mobility buff. I say it should two last buffs, and then it's in a good spot (it's already in a good spot admittedly). It should have full charge speed in the air and a charge hold to help it contest chargers a bit more, which is one of its biggest weaknesses.

Hoping for one if not in the mid-season patch, next update. I don't think it's that unlikely they'll get something. Brella got this buff after so long in the same update it's receiving a kit in. Since next update will finally give us the Gloogas Deco (probably), I reckon there's a good chance it'll get some sort of buff, especially on account of it being one of the lesser used dualies, if not the least used. Also, this Brella buff corresponds with its Main Power Up effect in Splatoon 2, which sped up canopy regeneration. Gloogas' MPU effect was damage-up, so hopefully this could mean that Gloogas gets a damage buff, which I for one think is what it needs.
