It's just awesome to watch a detective who is an older woman with intelligence wit and strength instead of the usual 30 year olds who are all "beautiful" to American audiences. I adore Vera and I adore the actress and applaude the producers for engaging older female actors in these kind of serious shows. Keep up the great work. As a Canadian, I love all things British!! what a lovely woman. I am now addicted to watching all of the shows. one of the things I like is that there are at least 8 suspects at the beginning of the show then the guilty party is usually not the one suspected during the show. great writing and acting, love it.

I was pleased to see what a pretty woman she can be too, with a little makeup and her hair simply styled. Still so relatable also. Just love her and Vera! I was having difficulty finding new interesting shows and movies during this lockdown and being virtually bedridden. Vera has been a blessing, breath of fresh air! Love the character of Vera and Brenda Blethyn plays her so well. And she might look like a bag lady, but she has beautiful peaches and cream skin and lovely hair (thanks to Ms Blethyn). And she does the accent so well.

We were sooo lucky last week, they are filming the 2nd series of Vera, and were just up the road to where we live, so when out walking the dog, saw the filming and saw Brenda Blethyn acting out a scene, we asked the Security, if it would be possible to return for her autograph, he told us when to come back, and had mentioned us to her... so when we returned, she came straight over, she chatted to us, posed for pics and allowed us to stand by her on set, how lucky were we... I love Brenda B xxx
