I have always loved Brinda Lee I was a teenager when I first heard her., To day I am a Great Grand Mother . My children grew up listening to her incredible voice,when my youngest son married they went o honeymoon to Hawaii and met her at one of the showes there, She spoke to them,my Son told her my Mother was a big fan and so was he as she always had your music playing.. She was a little lady with a Big Voice.

"I'm Sorry" is one of Brenda Lee's best. Even before I knew her name, I liked the song & had this precocious inner-child thing that allowed me to understand it. Without any doubt, it was her delivery, her vocal finesse that allowed me to connect with this song @ such an early age. I can't truly say that it kept me out of adult problems that happened later, down the line. However, that's just proof that we need to experience life head on, drawing on our own experiences. But once those things happen, I was able to connect with this song in ways that were fare deeper.

I tried to read your message in Dutch , my late mother was from Holland, l and my family went to Holland in the late fifties, was there about 2 years, l learned to speak Dutch just enough to understand and speak to family members and went to the Dutch schools also , but when we returned home l no longer spoke it , my mother was afraid it would confuse us , she said its best you learn your own language well ! thank you, l couldn’t understand your comment and had to hit the English button, but l did pick up a few words still ! And me, but at least she says it was written by Ronnie Self, a Nashville singer-songwriter born in 1938, so it wasn't an old (for its time) song, though it's in a 1930's style. Self also wrote for Brenda (among other titles) Sweet nothins & Sweet impossible you. As a matter of interest, Wiki often features stories of songs.
