Brandon, I just watch this video for the second time I just love watching you fish is more down to earth for the majority of fishermen. We can all have $50,000 bass boats in all the fancy stuff. It just takes a little ingenuity patience and having a good time.😊

one thing that I know of if you were to find a non-pressured fishing spot is that you need to be aware of danger in some cases like sinkholes, wild animals, leeches, snakes, crocodile, etc. I do salute you Brendan for going solo for that kind of mentality bc I'd been fishing for almost 20 years, solo, no friends to go with, wanted to find a non-pressured fishing spot. I always right about that, too often regular fishing spot will often stress out or spook the fish, making it hard to catch.

Great video, thank you!!! Downsizing always gets the job done. The ponds I usually fish are highly pressured and I can't count the number of times I have showed up and saw guys throwing huge swim baits, crank baits etc., and having them tell me they've caught nothing and I whip out an ultralight rod with Gulp Minnows, crappie/trout magnets or a small 1-1/2 to 2" paddle tail and within a couple of casts I start catching fish. These guys look at me and always ask, what are you using? LOL

I have people roll up on me in my kayak all the time asking me what I’m using. I use tiny Berkley Atomic Tubes, I catch tons of fish while others aren’t catching anything.😂

"Put in the work" is always good advice. 👍🏼 How do you get to Madison Square Garden? Practice, practice, practice! 😎 Excellent vid, Brendan! (BTW, the improved quality of your video editing over the years is another great example of how putting in the work pays off.)

I was a guide for a summer in my teens, we would have a nightly barbecue for the guests to eat their catch of the day, mostly pickerel, some pike, crappy, and perch. I would filet hundreds of fish that summer, their stomachs were full of tiny bait fish, small craws, but mostly tiny tiny minnows. I have been fishing small baits ever since, I almost always catch fish.

Liked and subbed - we have similar water, it seems, and I love the fact that you go find places off the beaten path as well. Just because something is not "traditional" in terms of where someone "should" fish, doesn't mean you can't catch quality fish there. You showed that in this video, and I would say that when I have success after really working / hiking / exploring to get a bite - it is so much more rewarding. Great work!

Awesome tips I'm from western nc so I feel you on the fishing is meh haha, one other tip I have is target the least targeted species. I fish the French broad alot and have had a hard time catfishing this year alot of people overfishing and eating everything they catch started carp fishing the heavy fished catfish dams etc. And have caught multiple large fish this year. Keep up the great content. Best tip stay mobile if your not catching anything pick up and take a walk don't stay in one spot getting skunked.

I tell my friends to downsize all the time. Fishing in NYC is really pressured. Everyone is tossing big lures and not catching anything. I'm tossing a 1/64oz jig with a small soft plastic and I'm pulling out 2-3lb bass

Yeah... live bait is forbidden over here in the Netherlands :P Bugs are okay, but using live fish and amphibians can get you a fine of a few hundred bucks, and rightly so (as far as I'm concerned). But I do know it's generally allowed in the US.
