This was a great round table, you guys are the Last Jedi’s of the record Stores! I started going to record stores in 1974, when I was 10, National Record Mall was my local store in the mall, I loved being there it was the heart of the mall. So time has marched on the closest Record Store is 40 minutes away. My son doesn’t understand the experience of shopping over n over looking for that 1 album you’ve wanted or being there the day of new releases.

Yeah it’s a lost art form hunting for music in person at your favorite store digging until you find that hidden gem. I wouldn’t trade anything in the world for it.

It's great to hear the perspective from a record store, and they do it for the love of music, not to just make money, that is what it's all about, fans first.

This was great, hope to see more of these. You spoke about younger people coming into the store, including some in future videos would be a cool way to get their perspective.

Ref : 17:44 As a metalhead I couldn’t stand bands like Steely Dan…but as an adult I “get it” now and think they are brilliant.

Really enjoyed the video Brendon. Just the kind of conversation and banter I hope for when I go to the record shop. The part you talked about, finding new artists, either old or new, even though we’re grown ups now, so glad to hear other people talk about that, cause I’ve never bought into that thing where you’re stuck listening to what you dug when you were like, 22. Matt on Too Many Records turned me on to Phoebe Bridgers (new), guy at my record store got me hooked on Big Thief (newish) and just the other day Norman Maslov was playing Quicksilver Messenger Service (old) and now I HAVE to have that! Keep it up, I’m enjoying your videos over here in Norway and it’s been inspiring me to make my own as well.

Lynyrd Skynyrd wasn't a person but Leonard Skinner was.... 😂. Great video and points made about joys and struggles of running a shop and customers! Especially about joy of customers being so happy getting a new album they have been waiting forever to come out. Plus the Record Store people who know every aspect of music and are guides to new music. My favorite memory, I know weird, but the smell of a newly opened CD and case is so unique and etched in my memory forever. Keep up the great dialog and information.

Killer episode, so informative and fun. We had an awesome store named Eides here In Pittsburgh. They had everything and knew everything. I'd grab 10 albums a week, then they just started seeing me come in and started giving me free promos and stuff, and I was just a teen but they took extra care of me. Love the record store that appreciates you

This was an awesome video. I have spent my fair share of time in the industry from record shops to various label positions. I miss it, but unfortunately life has me in a spot where all I can do is promote and push it from the outside. There is nothing like a record store, and the fellas are right… you don’t own a record shop “to make money” you do it for the love of music. The discount thing always rattled my nerves. But I understood most people didn’t understand the pricing and how it worked. It is absolutely awesome the story the dude told about giving away record players because he’d rather see the elation in the kids face and have him come back month after month then sitting on a player that takes up space to maybe make $10 off of it. I loved NJ for its record shops moving down here to Jacksonville has been hard finding shops. Found three, been two… I am aware of two more in St Augustine. When you were in FLA any shops? I know you have been up north for awhile so the ones down here may not be here still, but I’ll take a road trip for a record shop. My buddy and I used to leave the house at 9am and take a day and hit 5, 6, 7 shops…. I love it. I wanna get back into it again one day soon. Great video!

Brendon, I love all your videos. I don't normally make comments but just wanted to say I love hearing about your passion for music. I found the Record Store Roundtable especially interesting. Your guests shared the same passion that you and I have for physical media. \m/

Great chat. To be fair XYZ is probably a slightly tricky one to find. I mean you could find the label XYZ but the label isn't for the band but for all bands that start with X, Y or Z.

Great video and the guys from vinyl addiction seemed very relaxed and knowledgeable. Was amusing that all your gripes in dealing with the public were things that did not faze vinyl addiction staff in the slightest.

I bought Cinderella-Live at the Keyclub cd,from US to Finland.. and that work fine..but nowadays they are stucking on customs..if you’re already paid customs duty, you cds are still stuck in.. when you’re ordered outside EU. Earlier i have ordered UK and Japan, but nowadays it doesn’t work so good. 🤔🌞✌️
