They killed Data and wondered why ppl hated ST: Nemesis. He was arguably the best char in TNG. Very glad he went with his spot-on instincts and stuck with Data and his version of it rather than going for Riker even tho he needed the money.

@apreviousseagle836 Жыл бұрын
@@martinst-louis5475 The writers didn't really understand their own writing. The reason pushing Worf into the water was funny, is because Worf is always the butt of jokes. The "strong" Klingon get dunked into the water, hahahahahaha, yeah whatever. Drole. But Data pushing off Crusher was unexpected, and to the crew not funny because she's not usually the butt of the joke (but to the audience it was funny, unintentionally)

Brent is what i miss about Star Trak. As an actor and as the role he played. Philosophy at it`s best. You were entertained and meanwhile you got infused with burning questions. When did Data become a person? the question that is as well relevant to decide wether a braindead coma patien is still a person (bluntly speaking) So much to learn from those guys who tricked us in to believing they are just making an entertaining tv series. But their sinister plan was to give free education injected with a needle that would not hurt but brings joy. I miss that so much :-(
@chrisThurt42694 жыл бұрын
I agree. I read somewhere that the little diddy he sings at around 1:48 was made up by him on the spot, the reactions of the actors are real as they thought he was just going to hum a tune.
@judithsixkiller55863 жыл бұрын
I think that the experiance of constant complex working challenges exposed him to both the conflicting demands and benefits of friendship with so many living and unique individuals, that it demanded his personalities coping functions to deep learn valid and changing flexible responses to each new situation and attitude over time. Like any life form evolving to change to survive under a myriad of variable conditions.

I was somehow happy for him getting that chip.Maybe the pople that disliked it have not enough empathy to understand or they have no emotions and could identify themself better with the original Data.

Three of the true fan favorites of Star Trek were Data, The Doctor and Seven of Nine. I think people love and identify with these three characters so much because in many ways they are all of us or who we are on the inside: slightly awkward, vulnerable yet trying to put on brave fronts, trying to figure humanity and end up being more human because of it... Also they also just happen to be so much fun and hilariously funny. The writers and the actors did amazing jobs with those roles :).

Do I miss the way Star Trek use time be, yes, but this is the Reality we live in today in almost everything we watch. I just look past the crap in hopes to see some of the old Picard magic of the old days. I like the Orville better because it’s like the classic Trek of my childhood, but seeing Jean Luc Data Riker, Troy, Seven of nine, and who ever else is really what drew me to the show. I just started watching Discovery, and it’s ok, didn’t want to watch it for a long time because of what they did to the Klingons, but I looked pass it, and the story is good, but yeah, I miss classic Trek, and that’s why The Orville is better then all Picard and Discovery too me.
