Haha an absolute gold! Met him when I was a kid, around 1988 or so. They dropped the Tag Team Title to The Demolition few weeks earlier or so. I was with my Dad in some corridor and Bret and Jim were passing by. I’ve yelled “Bret you are the best!”. He stopped and suddenly turned to me and started to walking towards us. He signed me an autograph, fumbled on his bag and found his famous shades, signed over them, took a picture with me and handshake my father with Jim and bus full of wrestlers waiting. That was one of my nicest memories from the childhood, doing something with my Dad who passed away shortly thereafter. I never forgot that to Bret Hart, what a straight up guy, and his matches were legendary!

I hope that HHH and Nick Khan will be that personable to the WWE roster in the future. It's important to have a boss like that. I don't watch wrestling as religiously as I did in the attitude era but I ended up watching some clips from the Raw XXX show a few weeks ago and my girlfriend who never watched wrestling started asking questions so we went back to 1995 and started watching instead of me talking for hours lol. She was amazed by classic Vince and we ended up talking about the 90s/early 2000s VS today and the conclusion we came to as why is because Vince is out of touch with reality now. He used to hang with the guys and get to know and trust in their talents and take part in the world the majority of people live in. Now he's so far removed that he has no way of actually knowing what people want to see and he just keeps going off of his own dated personal ideas and the story telling is suffering for it.

Aside from his being my favorite wrestler, Bret has always shown the ability to get straight to the point--whether it was in his wrestling promos, interviews or if you got the chance to talk with him. When I've met him personally and had the chance to talk with him, he demonstrated(and still does)sincerity by speaking with me rather than AT me. While remaining sincere in this interview, Bret provided much needed laughter from this particular story involving his former boss. To this day, Bret has never bored nor tired me--his name is synonymous with legend.

I remember we got there way to early and being a huge fan I sat in awe the whole time just looking at the ring and how much larger the ramp and everything was in person. Then I remember JR and the King walked out onto the ramp and everyone went nuts and Vince walked out as well wearing the Raw jacket and then they got in the ring and gave us an introduction and got us more fired up for the show. So glad I got to experience a show from the best time in wwf.

I'm from Western Canada. Just before Owen went to WWF, he was a superstar and top guy in Stampede Wrestling. One night after he had wrestled the main event in my hometown, I snuck up into the makeshift dressing room on an upper level. There was Owen, still in his wrestling gear. I was shy, but I boldly went up and introduced myself. Owen simply stood up, shook my hand and started talking to me. (to give perspective, another wrestler Rip Rogers once invited me and some buddies up into the same area - on another night - only to have Johnny Smith FREAK out, despite Rogers telling him we were OK, and shove my big friend back with all his might!) Owen stood there, and talked to me....a LONG time.....maybe an hour....I asked him all about wrestling, told him I wanted to be a wrestler. Asked him about matches in Japan I'd seen clips off (specifically a match he had with Keichi Umada - later to become jushin thunder lager). He was nice, quiet, never once tried to break it off or get me out....in retrospect, undoubtedly, he wanted me out....who wants to talk to random fan in your wrestling gear after a long hard main eventmatch (against Makhan Singh/Bastion Booger). Eventually, Bruce Hart came up, and told Owen they had to go. We were the last people in the building by then. (Bruce had a black eye, and Owen asked him what happened....Bruce said Great Gamma had punched him in the eye....Owen said "in the match?" and Bruce said "NO, in the hallway!" lol). So Owen said he had to go, shook my hand again, and gave me a card for the Hart wrestling school, writing a number on it I could call and say I had talked to him! People will always say "he was such a nice guy!" after people die tragically - well, I can tell you, he was a really, really nice guy to a 16 year old kid, who had no business bothering him.

Cool story man! I actually used to talk to Bill Moody aka Paul Bearer on the phone and over email back before he retired the character when he was still homebound dealing with his obesity problems. I emailed him one rainy boring day and told him what a fan I was and he emailed me back with his phone # . I was so nervous the first time I called him and when he answered he was so nice and spoke like me(from the south) which was shocking. I remember saying I hope its really you and he laughed and did his Paul Bearer voice then I knew it was really him. I asked why he was so willing to shoot the shit with me and he just said " why not? I don't have shit else to do. I'm homebound at my desk and weigh over 500lbs so why not bs with a good fan?" He said he just absolutely loved engaging with fans but asked me not to share his number because he didn't just speak to anybody. I never did either even though my neighbor begged me to call him on speakerphone to prove I wasn't lying about speaking to him. I was so happy later on when he was back in wrestling and doing more as Paul Bearer and got to retire the character. Sadly I got online one day and saw that he had passed on. When I watched the Raw where The Undertaker pointed at the pic of Bill on the screen I got so emotional yet felt so happy that they did it. Just wanted to share my experience . RIP Bill Moody

I met Mr. Hart in Alaska around 2018 or 2019 at a wrestling event and meet & greet. The experience was great. I had a real eye to eye contact with him and really got his attention and gave him a good handshake then told him thank you for what he did as a wrestler and entertainer and that I lost my father almost 20 years ago and he and I would watch some good matches and that he (Bret) was my favorite wrestler of all time and such an honor to meet him. So as I sat to get a picture on my phone for some stupid reason it wouldn't work and I said to him no worries that meeting him and shaking his hand was good enough and I was so in the moment that I forgot my good friend was there and said he'd take a picture for me and Bret insisted so I got my picture taken with him 😊 As I went back to the bleachers and as I watched the line shorten I remembered that they were selling both a picture and his bad ass shades and I really wanted them but I only had $20 left to my name. But I had been joking with the security guard that was standing at the spot to get down to where Bret and the other wrestlers were so I asked if he would let my slid on back down before they finished and I wasn't sure if he would but he did and when I got to where he has there were about five people left so I started a conversation with his son (nice young man) and as the last person finished I caught Mr. Hart getting out of his seat and again made eye contact and asked if he remembered me on line. He told me had with a true honest look in his eye and I thanked him again and asked about the photo and what it cost. So he sat back down and told me to talk to a guy behind me (watching the whole time) and the man told me $40 for a photo and $20 for the shades. So I all of sudden put a bit of awe bummer look on my face because I really wanted a photo but smiled and said "well I'll take the shades then, who do I pay". So the man points to Brett's son. I turn around give his son $20 and turn back to Bret and as I turn around I see him signing a picture for me handing both glasses and signed photo, smiles at me and what looked like a little here you go wink and told me thank you. I'll treasure that moment for as my mind is alive 🥲 When the introduced him half way through the show he mentioned something in the fact of meeting fans he great encounters with and he wouldn't forget. I felt like I was quit possibly one of those great fans 😌😏 Thank you again Mr. Hart to you and your family 💖 Hitman strong 💪💔😏

I'm praying for things to get better all around, any more information, please send it this way lol I honest to God waited my whole life to meet Bret. I like how Bret told these stories especially the first one. He told it so well I pictured it in my head as like a comical cartoon program lol I couldn’t stop laughing. I didn’t really think wrestlers did the stereotypical wrestling stuff in public ffs 😂😂 I thought that was a myth but it’s amazing what a few litres of alcohol can achieve. 🤣
