Do you have eyes? Is there Brett sitting in front of you? With this baseline the examiner can point out anomalies within the question answering process. By the way in some states a polygraph result counts as empirical evidence in a court of law…

The only consideration is it needs to be taught after classical methods so the foundation is present when learning higher maths

He doesn't want water and cookies more; he knows the real deal is cookies with milk and he just fights it by telling himself it wouldn't be good, because he truly wants to believe it wouldn't be good. Even though he was truly shocked it said he didn't like water and cookies, deep down he knows it's the truth, he just doesn't want it to be the truth. That's real.

Lie detection if it was good enough, Could be used in court, And it cannot.

More accurately it detects certain physical functions, like pulse and breathing rate, the cause of which must be interpreted with other information besides the polygraph reading. A polygraph can’t detect intent, since intent is not material in nature. Only humans and others with the capability to observe the immaterial can detect intent or any other state of mind.

@@desmondsparrs it tests 4 things, pulse, blood pressure, respiration and skin conductivity. Neither of which can do anything but check for general discomfort, it can't tell the difference if you're nervous or scared, or passionate or horny, as pretty much all of those give the same results.

right, polygraphs are sensitive tests, meaning they detect signs consistent with lying well. As others have pointed out though, those signs can be attributed to other reasons besides lying, so it's not as specific as it is sensitive. Meaning a liar would not easily pass a polygraph test, but neither would a truthful nervous tester
