But because Montréalers is so neo environmentalist it denies the social acceptability for the pipeline. I hope Quebecers see the benefits for the pipeline and do some research on its technology. Sincerely a Montrealer 🙌🏼

PM is blaming the internet for his plummeting popularity. My prediction is that he will start a project using more deficit funding as opposed to private sector funding before the summer as an act of desperation. He did a similar thing with the disastrous US trade deal by using deficit financing to bail out Algoma.

Well, actually, there is far more to it than Brett reveals........The refineries in the East were originally designed and Engineered to process Light Sweet Crude and Medium Sweet Crude Oil and known as Conventional Oil..........Presently the only refinery in the East that is processing Heavy Crude oil feed stock is the Suncor, Sarnia Ontario refinery........... Suncor is one of the major Heavy Oil producers so naturally they would want to capitalize on the same type / grade of crude oil they supply to the North American market and have the option of processing the same oil they presently supply as crude oil feed stock to American refineries......Suncor spent 1 Billion dollars upgrading and re-engineering their Sarnia refinery facility to receive and process the much lower grade of heavy crude oil.........(That ) was their corporate decision to do so while they also orchestrated the delivery of that heavy crude oil to their refinery operation......Meantime, the remaining refineries continue to process conventional crude oil as those refineries can not process the much lower grade of Heavy crude oil..........But, they could (IF) they decide to and commit to re-engineer their existing facilities and expand their refinery capabilities and or capacity and do the same as Suncor has done........and, arrange for the the delivery of the lower grade crude oil and commit to purchasing the Heavy Crude oil in volumes.........In theory, if they did so, they could start to lower their imports of Conventional crude oil that has been supplied to them by way of other oil producing nations that supply them by way of large crude oil Tankers delivering the type and grades of oil that the refineries were originally engineered and constructed to process and refine...........To do that they have to spend hundreds of millions of dollars to upgrade and re engineer their existing facilities ( same as Suncor ) and then commit to purchasing the lower grade Canadian crude oil.......Plus they have to be confident that the lower grade products obtained from the refining of the lower grade oil can be sold and having a customer base existing that will purchase the relative volumes of refined petroleum products obtained from the volumes of lower grade crude oil they are committing to purchase and refine....understand????.......They can not be forced to to spend the money to re-engineer their existing facilities and they can not be forced to buy lower grade Canadian source heavy crude oil to satisfy the Canadian citizens or political pundits......So, even if a major pipeline transporting Heavy Crude Oil from Alberta was made available to the Eastern refinery operations, they can decide (not to get involved) and not commit to purchase the lower grade oil and everything entailed to do so.........(IF) ..the Canadian government was to start restricting the import of foreign oil then the refineries in the East would have to start (converting ) their refinery operations to process the lower grade of heavy oil......That and the volumes of Conventional crude oil from Canadian sources would also have to be increased and delivered by additional pipelines being built, or, expand the existing pipeline capacity that presently supplies a percent of the conventional crude oil from Canadian sources to those refineries in Ontario and Quebec, as not all the conventional crude oil supplied to those Ontario and Quebec based refiners is supplied by international sources..........The Interprovincial Pipeline was built in 1951 and extended to Sarnia Ontario in 1954 and extended to Montreal in 1957 and has supplied Canadian source conventional crude oil since that era of refinery expansion and presently continues to supply a portion of the conventional crude oil used in those refinery operations......So yes......the key to the equation is to build more pipeline capacity to transport the Canadian source Heavy crude oil and or the Canadian source conventional crude oil to those Eastern refineries.....Thing is, it is the Heavy crude oil that is now readily available in (excess volumes) to be purchased...... But, it is the conventional crude oil that is in demand........Meantime, Canadian source conventional crude oil is booked to capacity already while there has been no significant increase in Canadian source conventional crude oil, rather a huge increase in the volumes of Heavy Crude oil made available......The refineries in the USA committed to purchasing increasing volumes of the low grade heavy oil since 20 years ago and they made large financial investments and commitments to re-engineer and expand their existing refinery operations while they had, before hand, or presently have the markets for all the lower grade refined products relative to the output volumes produced from the input volumes of Crude oil feed stock they receive........Anyhow it is complicated and not as easy as implied or suggested when the critics say that Canadian refineries should be refining Canadian oil and simple as that...as it is not as simple as that...it is complicate relative to ( everything ) entailed....Cheers

@hasslefree1848
@hasslefree1848 4 жыл бұрын
@@BOPBOY60: Some people are pointing out evidence that our abilities to develop our resources and get them to market is being sabotaged politically and undermined by way of Environmental groups being funded to help kibosh plans and proposals to transport the excess crude oil to markets.....Personally I have no doubt that underhanded political and or private entities are practicing such skulduggery and responsible for or influentially effecting the ability of Pipeline corporations to do what they do best......Noting that Pipeline corporations are separate corporate entities that are in the products transportation industry aspect of the larger scope of Oil and Gas activities.....Without the pipeline infrastructure then getting the product to market is not nearly as practical.........So yes, more pipelines need to be built whether the crude oil of any grade is refined in Canada or exported by Pipeline, the pipelines are really the only practical and cost effective way to transport and deliver large volumes of crude oil.........But remember...Canadian domestic consumption is easily fulfilled by the current Canadian refinery capacity........But many people argue all our oil should be refined in Canada and then exported to the USA markets and or to overseas markets......Well yes and no but mainly no because the USA would at some point, and relative to volumes, would not allow significant volumes of Canadian refined petroleum products be imported and sold in the USA markets....That is simply because the USA has the largest oil and natural gas refinery and related petrochemical industries infrastructure in the world.......The over all industries involved and the USA government want those combined trillion dollar a year industries to continue flourishing and sustain their own home grown industries........and not be importing increasing volumes of refined petroleum products from Canada that compromise their existing refinery infrastructure ....... rather they want to be exporting excess refined products from their American based refinery operations.....so, they want crude oil feed stock and would block any significant amounts of refined product from Canada.......So, we are more or less stuck in a excess crude oil export situation.....In theory if large capacity refinery operations were built on both the West coast and East coast we could in theory refine all the Canadian oil and then (ship it ) to markets all over the world while that would still require increased pipeline capacity and large capacity oil tanker, tide water facilities to be built.....Both those kinds of proposals are rejected immediately by the now very influential anti oil and political opposition lobbies to such proposals......But..... it is always interesting to note that all of what is discussed can be done if and when the Oil and Natural Gas industry players and the Pipeline Companies are given the go ahead then Canadian corporations can do what needs to be done...if given the go ahead to do so..........Cheers

So does that mean all the crude oil that canada is exporting only contributes less than 1% of abnual emissions? I think they purposely interpreted that incorrectly. They are referring to emissions of crude pil consumed in Canada, which is miniscule to emissions that Canadian crude produces all over the world. Genz will probably see through this, but only because of non media channel, because this was a completely one sided discussion. The reported didn't even pose a single question or encourage persepevtived contrary to what the invitee was already there to talk about.

Don't hold back Sister, we cringe with embarrassment. A poofta for sure or light in the loafers neutered masculinity. But the again I don't think he's anymore in control than the rest of the world leaders given the bankers we're all beholden to. Still a silly choice as a pretty boy with no accomplishments finds himself in that position. Sorta like cortez out of New York. People deserve the government they get

Very frustrating to see that this upload is over a year old and instead of all of the truths Brett pointed out being addressed and fixed they have only gotten worse.

How can she pretend that there is anything genuine about this government. BNN has a responsibility to it's viewers to help put an end to this charade. For four years they have been keeping quiet about the absurdity, because their bosses tell them to do so.

Brett.... you should seriously run for the Conservative party leadership. You would win by a landslide and your common sense would also win you the PM of this country.

How is it solely Trudeau’s fault there are no pipelines? Harper’s buddy US billionaires are the ones that benefit from our low commodity prices... figure it out.
