Here are some shots I took of participants skiing the classical diagonal stride cross country ski technique. Look for a strong push-off, complete weight transfer from ski to ski, and solid glide time on the forward ski. Hands should extend past the hips with a release of the pole before swinging swiftly forward to about shoulder height as the pole is planted firmly in the snow. The torso remains quiet with little vertical movement.
