Thanks for carrying out the small but very informative experiment. Besides scoring by observation, it would have been very informative if you could have shivered and separated BSF larvae from the frass and then weighed them separately to give your audience actual numbers. It would be more convincing to get more people engaged knowing the value of what they would get from feeding the larvae and frass (respectively).

Green peas kill brown legged grain mites and mold mites. I read about it and tested it and had success. I'm just trying to spread the word. I at a bit of green pea flour (blending cooked is easier then blending dry) to all my BSF, Mealworm, Cricket food now.

We can have about 7kg to 9kg of brewery waste

I would think, used grains, could be the best food for BSF, but I guess adding kitchen waste makes a huge difference. I feed mine a variety.

how do you use brewery spent grain to feed the larvae do you dry it or just give them wet because I tried with wet spent grain but it was so hot it killed them all
