As a certified Fruit in beer enjoyer, I set out on the task of getting an active and enjoyable lemon character in a Lemon Pale ale using ONLY Lemondrop hops! (Well, and some bittering hops I guess)

Recipe
Lemon Pale Ale "Lemon-Drop Zone"
5.5% ABV | 6.0 SRM | 39 IBU
WATER AND ADDITIONS
- 4.5 Gallons RO Water
- 1.7 g Calcium Chloride
- 2.7 g Epsom Salt
- 5.4 g Gypsum
FERMENTABLES
- Pale Ale Malt (79%) 5 lbs 10 oz
- Vienna (10.5%) 12 oz
- Munich Light (5.3%) 6 oz
- Carapils (5.3%) 6 oz
Mash at 149° F for 60 Min
HOPS
- 60 MIN - Galena (11.2%) 0.5 oz for 32 IBU
- 5 MIN - Lemondrop (6%) 1 oz for 6.8 IBU
- 2 DAYS INTO FERMENTATION - Lemondrop (6%) 1 oz (Dry Hop)
YEAST
- Imperial Yeast- A24 Dry Hop
FERMENTATION
- 12 days at 68° F - 20° C
- 3 days at 36° F - 2° C
CARBONATION AND CONDITIONING
- Spunded during Fermentation @ 14 psi, Kegged 1 week @ 14psi,
My gear: (listed in order of appearance)
• Water Filtration: Portable Reverse Osmosis water filter
• Digital Mini scale, 200g
• Mash Tun: Anvil Foundry (6.5 gallon capacity)
• Anvil Steam Condenser
• Grain Mill: Malt Master R2 Pro (modified with corded drill)
• Hop Strainer: LUCKEG Brand 300
• Fermenter: SS Brewtech 7gal conical with FTSS and FTSS extensions
• Hydrometer
• Keg: 2.6 Gallon Torpedo Slimline Keg
• 5 Gallon CO2 tank and regulator
• 5 Gallon Wide mouth PET carboy
• Custom built Keezer System with Intertap Taps
(Hydrometer, connectors, miscellaneous tubing purchased through MoreBeer)

K, I’m feeling inspired. I just made an all Strata session IPA that was decent, but a crushable citrusy pale ale sounds great…especially in the heat here.

Where did you find the hop strainer?

Did you use gelatin or some other fining agent? It usually takes me almost a month in the keg to get that kind of clarity, yours looks amazing.

I did not! Only time and cold crashing. I’m usually very careful not to disturb the beer during the cold crash process (about 2 days) which I think helps.
