@@tairneanaich I have a horrible ear for accents, but I read comments claiming he sounded very Brummie when talking about supporting Liverpool in interviews on Stephen Colbert's show. (I know Liverpool is a totally different place, but I think his parents had just moved from Liverpool when he was born, so he was brought up a Liverpool fan.) I totally get what you mean though, my mom was brought up in the Bronx, and I swear you'd never hear it on her voice. She's always very self conscious about looking other or dumb (her parents were immigrants) I think that's part of it.

It's different in Europe as they can have a coalition government due to multiple parties. Part of why we have Trump, is that many don't understand we still have a two party system and not voting or voting third party is essentially a vote for Republicans, since they always have a higher turnout. If you want more parties, get it sorted out BEFORE the election. Way before. Then you can vote for Elmore and Lord Buckethead to your hearts content.

Lord Buckethead knows that he's a joke candidate and even acknowledges it. But the fact that he got noticed and was even able to talk with other party members at a roundtable, giving him a voice in politics, actually is impressive and if you go to his youtube, obviously some of his 'proposes' are comedic underlined but like in this clip of him, that he was able to talk to the people and the politicians and tell them that ''one prime minister against all the EU ministers will be a shitshow'' is a fair point. He may be a comedian but he has some valid points from a basic citizen's view. Even if he couldn't be realistically engaged into the deep politics stuff, he is not just babbleing around and has some common sense and realistic views on the future of the UK. I'm actually impressed. You know it's that common comedic moment you get when you tell yourself ''haha it's funny because it's possible''.

If you like this kind of Politics, I suggest checking out videos of "Martin Sonneborn". He is a german satirical politician who runs Die Partei ("The party") and has been voted into the Actual EU Parlament. He too did some awesome comically underlined statements and confrontations, for example with Hungaria, that made valid and not dismissable points. He even went as far as to use money, that each party here gets for simply existing, kinda like a subsadize, and literally SOLD it back to the public, by selling 100 Euros for 80 Euros. Really funny stuff.

Oh don't worry I know Martin Sonneborn's comedy. I'm from Luxembourg so I watch a lot of German and French comedians and of course English speaking comedy. Martin's stuff is really good. But I personally prefer Serdar Somunçu as satirist. He's more rash and aggressive. But it's been a while since I've checked out German comedy. But I think from what I've last heard, Serdar is also running for die Partei nowadays? But thanks for the mention though. Really appreciate it and I guess I'll be going back watching now some German comedy. You've given me a good reminder to check back.

Mike Jones, I hadn't heard of her before, but now that you mention it, she has some good things going for her too (her stance on civil liberties, for one). If she runs in 2020, I will give her fair consideration, just as I will give any candidate fair consideration, democrat or republican. (Of course, that assumes that the latter will present anything tolerable in four years, which given the direction they are going under Trump seems a remote possibility).
