Immigration: What do voters REALLY think? Speaking at the New Culture Forum's 2023 Immigration Conference, Prof. Matt Goodwin revealed the extent of the gulf between voters and our political class on the issue of immigration. A majority of ALL UK voters agree with Suella Braverman that mass immigration and illegal immigration pose an existential threat to the West -- yet to listen to the media, you'd be forgiven for thinking such a position was beyond the pale.
He also revealed that 51% of voters support the Rwanda scheme, and a similar number believe the act of crossing the channel by small boat shows that illegal migrants have contempt for British laws.

@@ripvanwinkle2002If anything is a problem it's the money men behind the scenes. "BlackRock" and "Vanguard" in particular. Take Italy for example, the government there couldn't do anything that they promised because large corporation's own so many stocks and shares not just in Italian companies but in the foreign companies with whom they do the bulk of their trade! Once you have organised merchants who can literally tell governments you'll do what you're told or we're remove our investments and with it about two fifths of your countries money, it really doesn't matter who you vote for! It's going to take tyrants and dictators to deal with these problems unfortunately, I say "unfortunately" because I really don't want that to happen, but eventually it's going to happen!

The chances of us voting a party into power with the will to correct this is slim to none. Couldn't agree more, they are in a very powerful position to go slow or even sabotage policies. This branches down to civil servants who work at council level too. All with safe jobs and no accountability. They run the show, not the people who we vote in who are only puppets anyway.

Reform have no chance of much more than 10 or maybe 15 seats and as a party they are ardent supports of the UN, so they have to support its Global Migration Pact and the Barcelona Declaration, and its why they shout very loud about ''The Boats'' but never ever provide a ''workable Policy' on how 'Net Migration'' the real problem, will be dramatically reduced. 660,000 last years and another 3.5 million all in the pipeline over the next 5 Years. If you do not understand the 'Root Causes'' of a Problem then you have no chance of fixing it. As an Election tail note, UKIP attained over 13% of the Vote [4 millions plus Votes] on a 60% plus turnout, and achieved 1 seat.

Also a lot of Sub Saharan African people have come to the country now to be carers for white British elderly people and the vulnerable and they bring their whole family with them to stay in the country forever, it's changing the demographics of British schools there's more immigrant children in a lot of British schools now than white British indigenous kids, i've witnessed this myself in my own area recently, i was shocked to see the white kids outnumbered by about 2 to 1, my area was never really a multicultural area until recently it's all happening really fast.

Tommy Robinson is a true English Patriot of this country. He was the first one to draw attention to the Asian grooming gangs of young white girls in Rotherham and many other English towns. The police did nothing! All Tommy got was to be thrown into jail for his troubles. Thank goodness for the far right who will actually come into London and defend our Historic statues, and the old soldiers on Remembrance Day. My daughter studying A levels has been advised not to study Medicine. She was told this because the advisor felt she would not get a place because she is not an international student. This is purely down to how much more money universitys get away with charging international students. This needs addressing, there needs to be a percentage cap putting in place making international students a small proportion of the Drs the UK trains.

No that isnt the solution at all. Education from our universities is one of the best exports the UK has. We really shouldnt cripple one of the things we actually do really well. There clearly needs to be increased places for UK students and more funding specifically for University Doctor training. We should have the best infrastructure and education for this in the world. But we dont. I would quite simply up the places and fund more universities to develop their own courses, like the University of Lincoln which is currently building a new training hospital. If our NHS is struggling, the solution is in our education system. Lets bolster it.

The Universities are now Ponzi schemes, and are currently packing campuses to the rafters. My local university, in the East Midlands, has built a mass of tower block accommodation for high-paying Chinese and other overseas undergraduates; when foreign governments stop paying the inflated fees for these students, this business model will collapse, and the universities will implode.

How our tiny island is expected to house millions more every few years baffles me.The NHS and welfare system are a magnet to immigrants,who can't believe they will get housing, unemployment pay,sick pay and maternity pay etc etc.even though they've paid nothing in. I think we ought to limit all benefits to those that have paid in to the system for at least 5 years.Then they should be based on what you've paid in. Can you imagine running a Christmas Club and letting people draw out more than they have paid in ? No wonder we face bankruptcy.

There has to be a cap - a hard limit - on the number of immigrants allowed into the country each year. Since 2010, the Tories have pledged to get immigration down to the tens of thousands but over their 13 years - 13 years!! - in office, they have done the reverse and immigration has risen to record levels. We voted to take back control, not least of immigration, but the points-based system has so far been a fiasco. Curiously, the Tories do nothing to raise the salary threshold on those coming to work here, confirming that they represent the interests of business in maintaining low labour costs, rather than the interests of those who elected them. The Home Office is literally out of control of the government and the public. It is a law unto itself, working against the interests of the public. Everyone coming to our country needs to be housed, and this demand contributes to the housing crisis, with ever increasing rents, evictions and homelessness, as well as placing an increasing strain on public services. Open borders Labour have forgotten that they were created to represent the working class. 1.2 MILLION new arrivals were approved in 2022, that's *more than 3000 EVERY DAY* a far greater number than those arriving across the Channel. How can any government or Home Secretary get the Home Office under control? The Tories and Labour have a vested interest in maintaining the first-past-the-post electoral system, it ensures that they will always be re-elected at some point. We need a political system that is responsive to the wishes of the electorate, allowing us to support innovative new parties and to sanction failing parties. In other words, we need proportional representation. The country's continued decline is assured until we can replace the first-past-the-post system and the dinosaur political parties. Vote for Reform.

Fantasy referendum in 1952 (Windrush year): We are embarking on a policy bringing in possibly 20 million aliens who will create a Third World economy and population explosion causing infrastructure collapse. "High skilled migration" is terrible. You're essentially asking the native British people to compete with the most affluent people from all over the world, people that have the experience and money necessary to come here, while British people never get the chance to gain that experience, which means they will never get to top positions. So you end up importing foreigners straight into the British upper class, while British people become second class citizens, ruled by foreigners, in their own country.

I had a discussion about citizenship with a Saudi Arabian chap, very forthright and honest, thoroughly likeable fella. He openly says of the case in Saudi Arabia, that its fine and well that people want to come work there, however there is a VERY high, nigh on impossibly high bar to citizenship, no voting rights, no influence. This is to keep their society Saudi Arabian. They value the work foreigners bring but THAT IS IT. No more no less. This is how it should be in the UK and the West. The chap from Saudi totally agreed with me and finds it SUICIDAL to be any other way on this subject.

Unfortunately, to a certain extent, this channel does exist in an echo chamber. Don't forget almost half the country voted to stay in the EU and more will be voting Labour. I disagree with them but we have to face reality there's a lot of people that vehemently disagree with us.

I had always thought of Matt Goodwin as a brilliant political scientist. Now he is also becoming a strategist, addressing what needs to be done to achieve conservative governmentand reinvigorate the institutions of the state that have become so debilitated by decades of EU membership followed by a decade of Tory sloth and feebleness. This was the priority after Brexit, drain the Westminster swamp and rebuild the UK's capacity for self-government. It was never done for reasons we all know. Would he please add to his subject areas a conservative philosophy of government? Roger Scruton has departed this earth. We need a successor.

My daughter doesn't want to be a Dr it's the fact tha whole cohort from her Grammar school are being advised not even to bother applying because the deck is stacked against them and that includes 30% British Indian/Pakistani kids. I agree mass illegal immigration is an existential threat to the country, but I don't think the Rwanda plan was ever a viable option. It was bound to be struck down by the courts, and the number Rwanda could take - at best - was a drop in the bucket. It might have worked as a disincentive to further illegal immigration, but would have done nothing to reduce the numbers already here.

There is already another 3.5 Million Economic Legal migrants coming over the next 5 years, all in the Pipeline, and the ''Islamification'' of the UK is accelerating. 95% of those making comments here are totally clueless about the UN Global Migration Pact and have never heard of the Barcelona Declaration. You will never ever fix a ''problem'' if you do not understand its Cause. Its why a True Brexit has always been denied, as with ''Closed Borders'' those really pulling the levers, not the Corrupt Puppets in Westminster, Immigration plans would seriously stall. The problem is that the majority in the UK are Lazy, scared of loosing what little they have, imagine that 'somebody else will do their heavy lifting' and are totally clueless about what is really transpiring and why. And until that radically changes then Nothing Changes.

Everybody needs to read Douglas Murray’s book The death of Europe. Since all these people have arrived…You cannot get a doctor or a dentist. You cannot get in to a hospital, schools are flooded and having to teach pigeon English catering to all the many languages that have come in. No housing and many many sleeping rough. How on Earth can all this be good for a small island, of people swimming in a Christian sea. We have had Christianity for thousands of years. That is how we think. We HAVE TO LEAVE THE EUROPEAN HUMAN RIGHTS LAW FROM THE EU. Our British common law is what most of Europe learnt from. Nothing in England is working any more. Vote Reform.

I have lived in many countries around the world. If you need help, or a carer or a farm worker, you have to apply to an agent in the country whom you pay a lot of money, fill in loads of forms, promise to pay their soc security and insurance, then the Government grant them a two year visa. After which time you reapply or they get sent back to where they have come from. No bring your family, your aunts and mothers in law and all become a CITIZEN OF ENGLAND. What madness is this?

Where I work in the UK they seem to only be able to recruit "skilled engineers" from India. Amazingly the Indian managers are recruiting the Indians. Of course it would be racist to comment on this in the workplace. We are being colonised and just letting it happen.

I have listened to many similar speeches by Matt and others. I have sadly come to conclusion that they all analyse the evolution of the forces in the ruling classes currently acting against traditional British culture and values and the indigenous population, most of whom are bewildered and incapable of doing anything other than trusting it will all come right in the end. From what I can see and have heard I fear it definitely won't.

I would rather be a little poorer in life but hold onto our culture in these islands of the north west of Europe, that my sons could easily rent or even buy their own home as i did, that their jobs are worthwhile and safe from foreign importation, that our leaders, media and institutions would stop shitting all over our history and culture. If we, as the collective west, would eliminate any form of welfare/benefits for illegals that alone would drastically reduce the amount of people attempting to come to our countries. Our benefits should be for our citizens alone, not for the world as a whole.
