@@theloniousratledge8835Billy Cobham is a "child" of the 60s and 70s (Brian Auger too). He became known playing jazz rock, among other elements. These re-recordings with these Italian musicians called Novecento seem to be very good. I believe it is a selection made by him, of songs he recorded. This appears to have been in 1976, the first time.

Just when I thought straight up stone groove jazz fusion like this died with the 80s (except for it being continued to be championed by Japanese bands to some extent beyond that era). This is fantastic, as with everything that Auger does. the true revelation here is the Nicolosi family. Never heard of them prior to this; and Rosanna's outstanding!

К этому времени были выпущены альбомы Вillу Cobham Live: Flight Time, Stratus и Picture This.

You can divide the keyborard era in 4 periods and idols: 1 Auger 2 Emerson 3 Wakeman 4 Rudess. I saw all them live but, among them, Brian is the best for feeling..if you hear about his cover of No time to live.. easely understand...

Sounds so much like the later Jon Luc Ponty material that more people know of.. This guy's is way way way underknown... How cool if you can catch one of his gigs.. True Music History in the brilliant mans story. I just discovered him and his band..! Wow what a treasure... !

my favorite snare-sound is mitch mitchell's on his ludwig. times ago, I used to play a ludwig with zinc body. mmh! (and not to forget bill bruford, who began with a ludwig snare!) but my all-time -peak is buddy miles' (RIP) snare on hendrix' "Rainy Day, Dream Away"; and I don't still know which snare he played.
