Күн бұрынBrian Catling is a novelist, poet and artist whose practice reaches across painting, sculpture, installation and performance. His surreal narratives, performances and sculptures evoke a sophisticated awareness of disability, exploring the vulnerability, grace and toughness of brokenness, alienation, healing and heroics throughout his rich and detailed multi-disciplinary practice.
Catling is Professor of Fine Art at Ruskin School of Art at Oxford University, a Fellow at Linacre College in Oxford and a member of the British Royal Academy. He has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions internationally since 1975.

as much as im put off by a lot of performance art, i cant help but admire brian .

Sidris....Wasidris. u clever man you! What a beautiful way to Express the transition. Now I will take it from here by doing the scene of being enveloped into a person, carried across the water, then unwrapped...only to die inside the cyclops! Thank you.

The only part that makes sense is the crutch walk. The rest makes no sense. I see nothing worth admiring. No great statement.

in hearing Catling speak about the performance, it seems we are missing out on 95% of it by watching it. The "energy" of the exhibition was almost as though he was simply a stimulus, and that the energy of the community was the "performance". People cried, maybe nit everything needs to be so deep?
