Very good point here, here his batting against the quicks is very good with good foot movement, look at how controlled his batting is here against Donald compared to the 98-99 series against Donald in South Africa

@wayne-mb8ds He wasn’t actually that bad against Donald in the 99 series. He was distracted. But he wasn’t bad. He attacked Donald in the third and fifth tests quite fearfully and a lesser bowler would have capitulated under the assault. But that is why Allan Donald was a great bowler, underrated but very great

@@wayne-mb8ds i agree. lara is the greatest batsman to me of the 90s and 2000s, and only second to viv in the 70s and 80s, but i think there were times he didn't give his best or withdrew his enthusiasm. his home cricket board seemed to push him to be captain and it appeared as if he didn't bring his a game to that tour. and wasim and waqar were bowlers he ha conquered already, and they were slower in that series than they were in the 92/93 season where he scored fou hundreds against them and a 96 in the QPO test match.

​@@juanestadian8471 Lara's career is split up in 3 parts, from the one off test against South Africa in Barbados in 92 till the 96 home series against New Zealand in the Caribbean Lara was on top of things but from 96-97 series in Australia till the 2001 series at home against South Africa Lara was not at his best apart from the 99 home series against Australia, but the 2001 series in Sri Lanka right through till his last test series against in Pakistan in 2006 Lara hit the high heights like he did in the first part of his career
